Hi Susan,

Very hot evening outside thankfully the library is air conditioned.  We are very lucky to have such a great space to meet.

They had 16 people in attendance.

We started the evening playing several songs that were brought up this past Saturday. I believe all them are covered in the notes below. But I could be wrong, would not be the first time and won’t be the last.

I have several notes that Susan wrote in my book which I’m having a tough time reading but I will do my best.

I didn’t see this but apparently Lauren gave Susan a copy of 500 Miles in a different key then we have it. Susan is going to change it to that key.  Whatever that may be.

16 Tons Ozbcoz Dm.  Another Susan note.

I assume this is the key that Maria wants to play it in. This was discussed briefly with a few people this past Saturday and again this evening.

Crackling Rose – one strum on each ” Play it Now”. Repeat the verse that begins with “Oh ..”

Then back down to Bah Bahs.

Birth of the Blues – stop at the blue section and jump back to the last two verses above.  I’m having a real hard time figuring out what Susan wrote. Hopefully she can figure it out from these strange notes.

Feeling Groovy – work on Harmony and end parts.

Bus Stop – definitely a doable song for our group.

Hello Muddah Hello Faddah – Susan is going to work on this or possibly drop the song all together. She’s not feeling it.

Oh Pretty Woman – Right now it looks like the E is going to be changed to E7 and Susan is going to work on the spacing.

Jenn, librarian, briefed us on the August 12th picnic. It will be outside behind the library whether permitting. Not the usual spot we play in.  Otherwise it will be inside. She said that we will be playing to families.  More information is available on Meetup and Facebook.

We tried out a few possibilities for the picnic and received a lot of suggestions. My apologies if I missed something. Please respond if I did.

Tom suggested that we clean up the song flaming ukulele in the sky for this event. If anyone has any suggestions for verses please let me know. I’ve got it rolling around in my head and I’ve got at least two. The working title right now is “Awesome Seabrook Library Right Here”

It’s late and I’m too tired to be concerned about capitalization. It was a great time tonight. We’re glad to see Don back in the fold.

We missed Joan tonight but hopefully she’ll be with us next week.

Susan, if I missed something on misinterpreted your large chicken scratches please let me know.

Have a great weekend and send your comments and or criticisms to our fearless leader.
