Sup Recap 11/02/2022

Thank you, Jack!

I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow –  the Concord Community Center is at 14 Canterbury Road. Details sent by the organizer:

“We are the City-Wide Community Center, located at 14 Canterbury Road in Concord. There is a Walgreens next door and a Pizza Hut across the street from Walgreens. Both are on the corner of Loudon Road. There is a parking lot in the front where you can park. I’ll be on the lookout for you and let you in the side door of the auditorium which is the easiest way to enter. If I miss you, the front door to the community center is near the auditorium and there is always someone at the front desk.”Looking forward: I will send an email out soon with the working list of songs to play in Lowell so that everyone can have some input. Starting on the 19th in Kingston, we will be using every opportunity to go through some of the newer songs to make sure which we will want, and to fine-tune. Even if you are not going to Lowell, this will be a good way to expand our repertoire!I will also pull out the Christmas songs and get them on our website. It’s definitely sneaking up on us. Have a great week!Susan

Susan,

This evening we had 12 attendees.

Announcements:

Susan has room for one more person if they would like to carpool to Concord.  She will be leaving from the Seabrook library at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Marilyn has room for two in her car. She will be leaving from her home in East Kingston.

Susan is working with the library for a potential Christmas show on a Saturday. Stay tuned for more information.

She’s also looking for other places to play. Bev mentioned some possibilities in Salem, NH.

There may be more weekend practices to prepare for the 3-hour performance in Lowell at the end of January. Susan is looking for song suggestions for that performance.

Tom stated that the t-shirts are in progress but have been delayed because of an overwhelming amount of school orders. He reassured everyone that he is not absconded with the funds.

Events:

11l19 – Kingston Rec

1l29 – Building #5 Farmers Market Lowell

We spent most of the night practicing for the Concord event.

A few other songs was suggested some where played and some were shelved for later.

Evil Ways – This is continuing to prove especially with the stick and shaker work from our percussion section.

Ukulele Lady – Susan will clarify the repeat section of the song.

World without Love – four beats on the ending chords.

SixteenTons – needs to be practiced more but it is a keeper. Maria may be suggesting a key change or something.

Cover the Rolling Stone – suggested but not played. Tonto suggested this for Lowell.

California Dreaming – suggested by Maria but not attempted.

As always, we had a great group this evening and it was fun as usual. Thank you Susan.

We welcome back Bev who had been in Florida and Jan had been in the Yukon. I’m jealous of both of them.

I’m sure I missed something and please edit as needed.

We will see some of you this Friday and hopefully all of you If not more next Wednesday.

Enjoy the beautiful upcoming weather,

Tennessee Ernie Jack
