Here’s the latest in Jack’s recap series – award winning as always!

To The One and Only Susan Ayer,

Another stellar night. Lots of fun and enthusiasm.

We had 15 in attendance including our newest member Peter from Kennebunk.

There were a couple informal announcements:

Kingston Rec – 11/19

Holiday show at the Seabrook Library – date to be determined

Mill Building #5 Market Lowell – 1/29

Susan will be canceling the meetup for Wednesday 11/ 23. This is the evening before Thanksgiving.

For more information on any of these events please check our meetup site.

Most of the evening was spent revisiting older songs and trying new songs. This is all part of Susan’s plan to expand our repertoire.

Here are some of the songs and what needs to be done, to the best of my recollection:

Have You Ever Seen The Rain – needs practice

Bus Stop – the version on the website is correct. Do not use the version in the PDF titled November 9th.  Practice switching between the B7 and the Em

The Letter – Susan will listen to the song and review the ending of the current version

Sing Happy People – Thank you Bev for this great song and your even greater performance.

Repeat the last two lines on the final chorus

You Ain’t Going Nowhere – needs familiarity and practice.  Please listen to the song when you have time.

California Dreaming – low voices sing the call, higher voices sing the response.  I hope I have that right.  The version that we were playing tonight will be posted to the website under songs in process.  St some point, Kim will be sending a version that she has. It will be reviewed.  Noreen suggested that we watch the Austin Ukulele Society’s video of this song. It is in a different key but it has all the nuances that we missed.

My Girl – the version we had was poorly arranged. A new version has been sent to Susan for approval.  Tom would need to add the walk up.

If anyone got the number of that bus that ran me over during practice please let me know.

I believe I covered everything if anyone would like to add some comments, feel free.

One personal observation; I am noticing more and more of our members are stepping out of their comfort zones.  It’s nice that we have such a fun, friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

Susan please edit as needed.

Humbly yours,

Jack
