Here is Jack’s recap of last night’s meetup – I agree, it was a fun night and so wonderful to have all the voices and harmonies! The songs I had doubts on were only because I know my own vocal limitations….so I was very happy when everyone stepped in and sang them so beautifully. I am quite happy to take the back row whenever possible!
One additional announcement:
Beginning on December 3 we will meet at the library on Saturdays as well as on Wednesday evenings. Watch for this on Meetup – Jack just went down and sweet talked the director and we are welcome any Saturday in December and January. I would like to make these practice sessions for Lowell, although initially we will also be practicing for Christmas. I plan to NOT meet in Kingston for the winter, as the Rec Center is pretty chilly.
So- I will see some of you this Saturday in Kingston, last time until Spring most likely. See the rest of you after Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Jack, for all the hard work and attention to detail!
Susan

Good evening Susan,
Lots of fun this evening.
We had 18 members in attendance. That included two new members Debbie and her granddaughter Jocelyn. Welcome to the Seacoast Ukulele Players.
Please visit our website. All of our songbook songs have been added. We also have songs in process, holiday/ winter songs and parodies. All these songs can be printed or downloaded right from the website. I am in the process of adding past recaps to the news page.

More information on these events can be found on our Meetup and Facebook page.
SNHUG events are on their Meetup page.
Keith, SNHUG, will be posting 25 days of holiday videos. He’s looking for people to send him a video 9f their favorite holiday song. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. You can be sitting in your kitchen, outside by a fire, it doesn’t matter. It can be solo, with others, whatever works for you. SUP I’ll be submitting one two videos. If you don’t know Keith, please see Susan, Kim, Meghan or me for his contact info. I believe the first one will be posted December 1.
We started out with some easy songs and then practiced holiday songs. Some went better than others but for the most part they are all doable with practice.
Rocking Around The Christmas Tree – two different versions were tried. Susan will bring both versions to the next meetup for a final decision.
We also tried California Dreamin’. It needs more practice but is definitely a keeper.
We had a lot of great voices tonight. This group is becoming quite formidable. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the fantastic job that Bev and Marilyn did leading O, Holy Night.
The backup singers were awesome as well.
I want to thank Susan for giving me the opportunity to compile the holiday song list.
Despite her doubts, I think the list was well accepted. Just sayin’ Susan.
Great night. Well done.
Have a safe happy and healthy Thanksgiving,
Jack/Tonto/Rodney Dangerfield/Boris/Grinch
