Good evening Susan,
Great day today at the library.
We had 18 and attendance including a new member, Suzie. Welcome Suzie.
Announcements:We will meet this coming Wednesday the 7th but skipping the 14th.
(update: We will meet on the 14th but NOT this week, the 7th). We will be meeting every Saturday except for Christmas Eve. Please look for updates on Meetup
12/21 Holiday Celebration Open House at the Seabrook Library. Details on meetup and Facebook. We will be playing from 5:00 to 6:00 and then scrounging library snacks from 6:00 to 7:00. Hopefully socializing as well. If you plan to attend please arrive at 4:30. You will need music stands and paper copies of the music. Susan will be issuing a final PDF soon.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a stand on the music you can always look on with one of us.
This is open to all skill levels. Do not hesitate to join even if you air strum and lip sync. It’s always fun. I’m talking from experience, two days after I joined four years ago, Susan talked me into performing at a Christmas show. She looked at me and said “I just need warm bodies.”
1/29 Lowell Mill Building #5 Market
Please see me up for additional information.
Megan told us that due to the lack of participation, Keith is no longer collecting videos to post for the holidays on the SNHUG Facebook and YouTube pages.
We still plan on making a couple videos of our best holiday songs.
Today was an unusual day for us. It was a mixture of birthday tributes songs to the Fearless Leader and her faithful sidekick. As well as other rare gems and holiday songs.
Now that everyone knows we share a birthday it might explain a lot of things.
They following songs need some work:
Good Day Sunshine – end with a G
Rawhide – bombed. I like to try it again when Tom is in attendance
You Ain’t Going Nowhere – repeat the chorus after singing at one time acapella. I believe this was in the last recap.
The remaining time on meetup was spent practicing songs for the library’s holiday event.
We did very well on most of the songs. Once again I have to give kudos to Maryilyn and Bev through outstanding for farmance on O, Holy Night.
Happy Christmas ( War is Over) – went very well.
Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy was a struggle. I for one would still like to practice this even if it doesn’t make it into the December 21st event.
Little Drummer Boy – This went fairly well and may be used as a replacement.
Reminder: almost all of our songs are on our website. You can also find the latest and past recaps as well as upcoming events.
We ended the meet up with cake and cider to celebrate the above mentioned birthdays. I personally want to thank all of you for the kind words. I’m sure I can speak with Susan on this as well. Susan was very touched by the words, cards, cake, cider, gifts, singing… !!
Thank you everyone for making our first Saturday a rousing success. What Jack said!!
I’m sure I missed something like I always do. (No you don’t!) If you have any questions, comments or concerns please send them to Susan. She will address them and pass any blame onto me as usual. (Well yes.)
Have a great weekend,
Jack (Grinch)
