Sup Recap 12/28/2022

Thank you, Jack, for keeping us informed!

Sounds like it was fun last night. I am always happy to know I am missed, but I am also happy when members step out and lead without me! We are getting stronger and stronger as everyone gets more practiced and more comfortable – there are many of you that are better players and singers than I am.  Maybe our  motto for 2023 should be “Don’t Be Shy”…

Very sorry to have missed Olivia Newton John and also the latest installment of Maria’s Corner. Tom, I have an assignment for your electric ukulele.

Thanks for all the well wishes and offers to bring groceries. I really appreciate it! I have found I could probably exist for a month on what I have in the house, including “Mystery Freezer Finds”, but if I am missing anything necessary, it’s great to know I have an army of errand runners out there. Starting yesterday afternoon I am feeling almost normal, which is a relief. I feel very lucky to not have had a worse experience. I am bummed that I can’t invite company for New Year’s brunch or do anything else social this weekend, but am kind of enjoying the solitary break, truth be told. And the  cats are very pleased with it all, which is all that really matters.

I wish you all a very happy New Year – we are certainly going to have some fun in 2023!

See you next week, my friends—stay safe and warm.

Susan

Good evening Susan,

I hope you’re starting to feel better. You will not be reprimanded for missing this evening, unlike me.

We had six attendees in this very low key Meetup.  Everyone had a lot of fun.

We mostly played random songs with a few from the proposed Lowell setlist.

Maria provided examples of how to change some of the chord finger patterns to make a song more interesting. She did this with Up Above My Head.  It was very interesting and fun.

We tried out a couple of new songs that the small group agreed should be keepers.

Summer Nights – Tom channeled his best Olivia Newton John

Thank you to all who came out on this chilly evening.

We hope to see a lot more of our regulars next Wednesday January 4th.

Happy New Year everyone. Stay healthy.

Jack
