Almost forgot to send out the recap! Please see below. Now we know where Jack gets his inspiration.
Thank you Jack and JC!!
I don’t have anything to add – I have put lists in the comments section for each Meetup practice, and will get the pdfs put together soon. But all the songs are on the website, in the correct version!
Jack did find a much better version of Midnight Special, which we can look at this week. It is one of the songs that we may take out of the Lowell lineup, but it bears keeping for future use either way.
See you all soon!
Susan

Good sunny afternoon Susan,
Another great meetup.
We had 17 in attendance.
Today we continued practicing songs for the Lowell event. The tentative list is on our website under the event. The list will most likely be trimmed in the next few meetups. We are still taking additions. We added End of the Line as requested by Kim.

Susan has fixed the PDF for today. It now has the correct versions of Bus Stop and Button Up Your Overcoat. You can find a link to that PDF on our Meetup page as well as on the website under the Meetup song list PDFs tab.
The following songs need some additional work /practice:
Dixie Chicken – the intro and ending will be played twice on the kazoo. Patty does an excellent job and the rest of us kazooers will follow her lead.
Fishers Hornpipe – there were a couple of errors in the latest version which Susan will correct. The last G on the first line of part 2 is 2 beats. At the finish it is 3 beats on the last G not 4.
Midnight Special – Tonto will attempt to find a straight forward version. The song is on the chopping block. If you have time listen to it at home. This is the Creedence Clearwater Revival version.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love – Remove intro
Feeling Groovy/49th Street Bridge Song – embellish throughout especially on last verse.
Button Up Your Overcoat – use kazoos ( high pitched) for the Boop Boop Dee Doop. And kazoos for the instrumental.
I’ve Just Seen a Face- We will try it one more time before it gets chopped from the list.
You’ve For to Hide Your Love Away – We will try this one again then decide it’s fate. If this song is retained we will need someone playing the tambourine. Yes, that’s you Joanie at the event. And some one to fill in at practices if needed.
I think that today’s practice went very well. I keep repeating myself when I say that we have a great bunch of players and singers.
Susan, please edit as needed.
I hope everyone enjoyed the sun that finally came out of during the Meetup.
Thanks everyone,
Jack the Scribe
