Sup Recap 1/18/2023

Hi, All –

Here is the recap from Wednesday!

I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow – please note we want to play through the Groundhog parodies, and any of the Lowell songs anyone would like to practice. But we can take time to play other things, too – apologies to those not playing at Lowell for all these practices! We are almost there.

Take a look at the Meetup schedule of events, because once we get past Feb. 1 we will not be meeting every Wednesday for the rest of the winter, in favor of meeting on Saturdays. However, the room is available, so I will want to know if the dates should stay on Meetup for anyone that wants to go and play on a Wednesday night. I will not be there for most of these, but it doesn’t mean you can’t go in and play some songs!

See you soon. To our snowbirds: I hope you are enjoying the warmth and relaxing! Please don’t forget to come back!

Susan

Hi Susan,

Small turnout tonight.  We had eight players. We ended up in the Children’s Room.  For those who remember that’s where this group started a little over 5 years ago.

This evening we went through the song list and picked out songs we felt needed a little more practice.

There were a minor changes to two songs which are going to be penciled in.

Freight Train – 3rd verse 4th line remove the word ” by” and replace with “down the line”

Night They Drove Old Dixie Down – Chorus

Remove the Am from the last line.  Replace with an F for 4 beats.

This Saturday we will have the projector. Those going to Lowell, please bring your paper to make sure that we all have the same songs, in the same key and in the same order. Also bring a pencil and eraser. You never know.

Susan is suggesting that we share music stands and music books at Lowell.  The performance area is quite small.  This might be a good time to find a buddy to pair up with.

That’s all I have tonight, hope to see some of you on Saturday.

Take care,

Jack
