Good morning!
Thank you, Jack! I do have a few extra comments:
Yes, happy Groundhog Day AND World Ukulele Day! Punxsutawney Phil “saw a shadow on his stage”, so we are to have 6 more weeks of winter. Only 6 weeks!! We can do this!
A few announcements:
1. We were well received in Lowell and have been invited back — I will be looking into dates after April. Mainly, I am just very happy with how it went and that they enjoyed our music. We certainly had a good time! Thank you to everyone for all the practicing and planning!
2. We have our first of what will be monthly nursing home gigs (or sometimes farm markets) on February 19 (Sunday) at 3 pm. Please sign up if you are interested and available! I am working on a setlist that will be a combination of things we have practiced recently and/or that are very familiar and easy – so we won’t need special practices. I will post this in the next couple of days.
3. I have had a lot of questions about SNHUG’s Luau fundraiser, which will be in April. No, we will not be playing at the luau, apparently we did not make the cut! But of course, as SNHUG members too, anyone interested in playing with them is invited to do so!
I will be at the library on Saturday, so if you are willing to brave the cold, come on down! We can look at the Avita setlist and also try out a few new songs, so bring your suggestions. I will have the computer.
Healing thoughts to Marilyn and Spider and anyone else dealing with all the viruses going around. We really could use Spring…..
Susan

Hi Susan,
We had 10 in attendance this evening. One new member, Marsha. Welcome to SUP! Marsha.
In case anyone is not aware, tomorrow is Groundhog Day. That is a National Holiday per Susan. For those of you who are still working for a living and decide to take the day off, give the boss Susan’s name.
We played some groundhog and other parodies this evening. Then we ventured into random songs.
Susan is looking to develop a list for nursing homes. A few songs were added but some songs came up that you shouldn’t play at nursing homes. For examples, Psycho Killer, In Heaven There is No Beer and a couple others that I’m drawing a blank on.
Susan is going to work on:
Psycho Killer – chord placement
The Boxer – key change
Peter played a Hawaiian song. He picked the entire song. It was excellent. He is going to try to remember the title of the song and send it to Susan. Thank you very much Peter, great job.
Reminder, next Wednesday will be a different format. No computer, we will circle up and try to learn new things and approve on existing. Such as picking, bar chords, harder chords etc.
If you’re going to attend please bring your SUP book. It’ll be something like 2 hours of Maria’s corner.
Our standard format with computer will continue on Saturday mornings.
Happy Groundhog Day everyone,
Jack
