Sup Recap 4/1/2023

I couldn’t say anything any better, Jack! Thanks, everyone for a fun morning. If you are able to come tomorrow, it’s not too late! I am making a few spare music packets just in case! Please keep an eye on our calendar via the website and Meetup. There are lots of fun opportunities coming our way! Also, as I announced today, we are staying with both Wednesday and Saturday at the library through this month. After that we will likely go back to just Wednesdays, but do a Saturday once a month, likely back at the Kingston Rec—but I am considering options. Please do respond with your thoughts – It’s your group!Susan

Good afternoon Susan,

The sun is starting to come out here in Seabrook after a very wet morning.  We had 18 hardy individuals show up to play and sing this morning.

Some of our snowbirds returned today. Welcome back.

Susan started us off with  Build Me Up Buttercup. Larry brought and led this song a few weeks ago. He went on vacation. During his absence Susan worked her “magic” on his version.  After we played it today he said “I  barely recognize it.” If I miss quoted you Larry, please let me know.

We continued with some of our older songs. Then worked our way into some of the songs that we will be playing at Avita tomorrow. We ended up with random songs chosen by various members.

Out of that we will keep:

Making Whoopee

I’ve Just Seen a Face – Marilyn pointed out that a G chord needs to be added at the end of the da da lines. If I miss something here please comment.

Come Dancing – Susan will be changing the key. This is a fun doable song. Patty came up with a great idea of adding kazoos for the instrumentals.

We continue to receive compliments from the librarians. Today they said that we seem to have more voices. Which in fact we did. The songs are really coming together.

Please check Meetup for upcoming events. Tomorrow we are playing at Avita in Newburyport.  Please bring a mask and wear your SUP t-shirt if you have one.

Susan announced an event that is not on meetup yet. We will be playing Wednesday May 24 for a senior lunch at the Brentwood New Hampshire recreational center. More details to follow.

June 11, We will be back at Mill number 5 in Lowell. This time we will be outside.

Help Wanted:

Susan is looking for someone to stand to her left and be willing to take abuse. This would be a temporary position until Jack (Rodney Dangerfield) returns. The successful applicant would become Susan’s indentured servant.

Thank you all for the well wishes on my upcoming surgery and I appreciate all the good natured ribbing.

Enjoy the weekend and we will see some of you tomorrow.

I will be back,

Tonto
