Happy Sunday!
Yesterday was our last regular “Winter Saturday” at the library. We will continue to meet every Wednesday, 5:00 – 6:45, forever.
Stay tuned for extra practices and meetup dates, at the library or other venues! We will be going back to the Kingston Rec with the warmer weather, and suggestions are welcome for outdoor destinations to practice/perform. As always, anyone is welcome, regardless of skill level.
Speaking of yesterday, it was really a blast – thank you all for lending your talents and friendship! We had a celebrity visit from our very own Jack Heffernan, who is almost ready for prime time! So great to have you back on my left, Tonto – and thank you for the song – genius as always! Even if you butchered someone’s name to fit. Looking forward to having you back at 100%.
Special thanks once again to Spider Drew for joining us and making everything so much more interesting and professional with his harmonica! You are amazing. Add Tom on the bass and Marilyn on harmonies, and an ever-growing group of strong singers and strummers— we are Fab.
We pushed the envelope a bit and tried “White Rabbit” so that Tom would quit playing the opening riff… and found we like being outside the envelope! It was great and I have added it to our song list for Lowell and beyond.
Slight changes were made to a few songs as we went through them.
Lovin’ LIfe: take out one of the repeated lines at the end
Devil and the Deep Blue Sea: Repeat the last two lines, end with C! F!
Handle With Care: Repeat the last line
I will get these and other edits completed and make sure the website is up to date so we will all be “on the same page”.
Lastly:
Please see attached our set list for Brentwood (Wednesday May 24 at 11:30) and the current list of songs for Lowell (Sunday June 11 at 10 am). We will go through the Brentwood list on Wednesday to make it final. Lowell is still a work in progress – we are adding some newer songs but the bulk of the list is tried and true. Solos/duets are welcome!
See you on Wednesday!
Susan
