It was a fun night and we are ready to rock on Sunday afternoon! Please come down to play if you are available. We are hoping the fire smoke haze will improve— we will be playing under the trees (see picture).

I did indeed update the list with the few corrected versions. PLEASE NOTE that the last two songs – Handle with Care and Spanish Pipedream – are alternates.

Thanks to Ruth and Walter for song suggestions! We will work on both  – they are great! We will not always spend the whole night practicing for an event, but I hope it was fun for all!

Dear Susan,

We had 21 attendees this evening despite the heat and the poor air quality.  However, it was very comfortable inside the library.

Prior to the start of the Meetup, Maria taught a lesson on how do the picking part of Drive My Car.  Great job as usual Maria. Please look at Meetup for any future lessons. These are well worth arriving early.

We also spoke to Barbara and Martha on the phone. It was very nice to hear from them. We played Stray Cat Strut, I hope that sounded good over the phone. Barbara and Martha, please come back as soon as you can. We miss you.

We spent the night practicing some of the songs for the Kingston Plains event this Sunday from 4 :00 to 5:30. We will be parking at the town hall and performing directly across the street.  Please see meet up for additional information and for the PDF of song sheets.

Susan has updated her PDF for the newer versions of the songs discuss this evening with the exception of Cover of the Rolling Stone.  If you have one of the marked up copies and would like to add a little color to the song please bring it with you. This is a high energy song, the more noise the better.

We also tried two new songs:

I’ll Be There and Mama’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys.  Both were well received.

Please continue to check meet up for future events.  We’re looking to have a good turnout for a outdoor events.  The Heritage car show on August 5th and the Art show on September 9th.

Finally, if you ordered a t-shirt they are in. Please see Susan to pick it up.
