Sup Recap 7/26/2023

Thanks, Jack!

It was a really fun night and we made some headway on the car songs. I am working on the revisions, which I will send out to those signed up for Aug. 5 and also those who were there last night; if I miss you, the revised versions will make their way onto the website.

Last night was our first attempt to limit the microphones in order to hear everyone better and to balance our voices. Still a work in process – let’s experiment with making more of a semi-circle. All focused on the screen makes it a challenge— it may help to choose a couple of songs each time to practice from paper, get in a circle and really hear each other.

Thanks to Kim and John for traveling down to join in the controlled (somewhat) chaos! We look forward to playing with  the Uke Pitt!

And thanks, Lauren for the parody – great job!

Susan

Hello Susan,

We had 17 members in attendance on this beautiful evening.

Please remember to check meet up for upcoming events. For example next Wednesday, at our normal time. We’ll be playing outdoors at the library for there summer celebration. And we will be provided with food and beverage. In the event of rain or above average heat we will be indoors.

August 5th will be playing on the Kingston Plains for the Heritage Day Car show and flea market. There are many more so please check and sign up if you can make it.

We spent the evening going over songs for the two upcoming events and some other random things.

The following were either new or need some work:

At the Hop – We did well with that considering was that first time.

No Particular Place to Go – This also went very well. Spider is doing a harmonica solo for the instrumental.

Fun Fun Fun – Susan will tweak this as needed including shortening the ending.

All Together Now – we did pretty well on this. Susan will fix the ending so it follows the way it’s supposed to be sung.

I’m sure there are other songs that may need a little tweak here and there but I can’t remember them.

Lauren decided to wafe into the parody pool this evening. She did an excellent take on Tuesday Afternoon called Wednesday Afternoon.  This will be posted on the website as soon as the secretary is able to add the chords.

We had a couple of special guests this evening, John and Kim O’Connell.  They co-founded a ukulele group called the Uke Pitt out of Pittsfield, NH.  They and other members of that group will be joining us at the Kingston Heritage Day performance.

If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please send them to Susan.

Thank you everyone who was able to make it tonight and we hope to see many of you at the library party next Wednesday.

The Secretary AKA Jack
