Thank you, Jack, and all attendees!
As always, we got a little unruly at times, but I felt it was a good practice and a good test of getting everyone off the mics. I know we sometimes have a push/pull between the familiar songs and newer things we are learning, but I do try to mix it up. Feedback is always, always welcome.
It’s a busy summer and I appreciate you all! Join us at our performances when you can – it’s fun! Please DO sign up when you are planning to participate – it makes a difference in the planning.
I am looking forward to some good gatherings as we enter the fall…Let’s get our creativity on!
Susan

Good evening Susan,
Tonight was the first night that went completely unplugged, no microphones.
We had 15 attendees set up in more of a semi-circle as opposed to facing the screen.
The beginning of the evening was spent going over some of the songs for this Sunday’s performance at Avita in Newburyport.
If you would like to attend please sign up on our Meetup page.
The balance of the evening was spent trying some new songs and experimenting with some of the older songs. We wrapped it up by picking random songs from the website.
We tried:
Groovin’ on a Sunday Afternoon – needs practice
Paperback Writer – please listen to this song at home and we will give it another try in the future.
Dancing in the Moonlight – same as above
Freight Train – We tried to do the slower Jerry Garcia version but I heard that the freight train picked up speed after it left the station.
Those Were the Days – despite being blamed, I did not pick this song. It appears that the entire song needs to be redone. I’m not sure how many people heard it above the cacophony, but Patty and Maria did an excellent job singing and playing it.
The following events are coming up, please check Meetup for details:
Avita – Newburyport this Sunday 3 PM
Kingston Rec – practice Saturday 8/19 10 AM
Kingston Rec Performance – Sunday 8/20 4 PM
Haverhill Art Show – Saturday 9/9 1:30
As with all performances, please plan on arriving a half hour early to set up. All skill levels are welcome.
I’m sure I missed something, please respond if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
Susan please add / edit as needed.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Jack
