SUP Recap 10/18/2023

Thank you, Jack!I will work on the corrections you have so faithfully documented! I rely on you because I generally do not know what is happening. I think the songs that need work deserve work. Once again, I encourage all who have a favorite song to send it to me or Jack, so we can play it on a Wednesday and ruin it for you for all time. Next week, the idea of bringing candy is for us to snack on, but mainly to leave a bowl of candy for kids that come into the library. The food donations are for the Seabrook food pantry, which is part of the county human services network. They suggested items they need right now, but also said anything is welcome. Just bring stuff in and I will get it over to the pantry. Please do take a look at Meetup, and sign up for upcoming events. Lastly, the library will be having a Christmas open house again this year, for which we are once again invited to play.  They plan on a Wednesday so it will be during our regular meetup time. Date TBD.Have a great week, everyone!Susan

Dear Susan,

We had 17 in attendance this evening. We welcome the return of the Myers gang.  I’m not sure if it’s true but the rumor was that they were being held captive in the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Apparently this delayed their return home.

Larry is back from his summer retreat.  Although sanding and scraping makes me question how much fun it was.

Next Wednesday will be our Halloween Party and Food Drive for the Seabrook food pantry. Please bring wrapped candy and a food item or two. Susan has stated previously that the pantry is looking for macaroni and cheese, pancake mix, syrup and instant mashed potatoes. I’m sure anything else will be more than welcome. Any leftover candy will be donated to the library.

Costumes are suggested but not required. Don’t be a Halloween Grinch like Susan. Although, word is she will be in costume.

I heard that Lauren is bringing cookies.

No pressure Lauren.

10/28 – Avita Newburyport

11/8 – United Methodist Church Hampton

11/11 – Our first Saturday at the library

11/17 – Riverwoods Manchester

Please see Meetup for details on all of the above.

Susan will try to remember to make the following corrections:

Bottle of Wine – instead of little bottle of wine it’s going to be get me a bottle of wine.  We are also changing one line too “my” pants are so old they shine.  At the end of the song we will repeat Let me go home and start over. Hold G for bass walk down at end.

Cotton fields – The base will bring us into the song. Remove the no cord indicator. Bass will bring us into that section as well. I’m not 100% sure but I think they might be a bass walk down at the end of this song.  Tom and Susan please correct me on anything referencing the bass.

First Cut – this song went very well for our first attempt. Add a D chord to the end of the introduction. The introduction and all instrumentals will be played twice. End on G

Back Home Again, Cant Buy Me Love and I’m Happy Just to Dance With You all need practice.

Everyday – Susan did her best on the toy piano solo. However, she has decided not to play that instrument at the Avita performance.

That’s it for now kids.

Enjoy the rest of the week and stay dry this weekend,

Jack
