SUP Recap 11/29/2023

Thank you, Jack, and hello, SUP !

For our December 13 performance at the library, I think we will keep the same list as last year. I will correct White Christmas to show the repeat and slow down at the end, but if you are using an old print out, just remember to write that in. Next Wednesday and Saturday the 9th we will run through the songs again, for anyone that missed last night. Please practice plucking the chords in O Holy NIght, and be ready to add harmonies to any song, wherever you can.

No matter what we do, they will love us as always! Please do join us; the more the merrier and Merry is the point. Festive clothing is encouraged.

I believe the plan is to play at 5, so Jack and I and anyone else with equipment should arrive at 4:30 if possible to set up.

I will be giving the library a donation this year, as we have collected some excess funds – we never require payment for our performances, but many of the venues have been very generous. We use any money that comes in to pay for Meetup and the website, but even setting aside money for next year, we can afford to give something back to the library. They are extremely accommodating and never charge us for anything. If anyone has an opinion on this, I am happy to hear it! And I have all of our information in an Excel sheet, available upon request.

Thank you all for lending your considerable talents to our group, and making every meetup so fun!

Susan

Good evening Suzerain,

It was nice to have you back. It was a fun night with 15 members in attendance.

We went through all the Christmas songs that we played at the library performance last year. If you would like a copy of those songs please look on our website under the Christmas/Winter Songs tab.  The PDF is titled:

2022-holiday-setlis-pdf- final.

I’m not sure if Susan is going swap out any songs this year. I’m sure we will find out by the next practice.

Most of the songs went very well. Only a couple of songs need a little work.

White Christmas – strum softly. Repeat the last two lines.  Start to slow down on the words “Merry and Bright”

Christmas Island – kazoo the instrumental.

The rest of the evening was spent playing random songs picked by the members.

12/13 – Seabrook Library Christmas Celebration Open House. We will be out on the main floor, please sign up. The more the merrier, get it?

This will be during our normal meetup hours.

1/15/2024 – Riverwoods Exeter. More info to follow.

You will find more information on our Meetup page.  The setlist will be posted there and on the website once they are complete.

Have a great weekend and stay warm,

Susan’s underling Jack
