SUP Recap 12/27/2023

Hi, All,

We are gearing up for the new year!

Setlist for Riverwoods is still open for tweaking next Wednesday, but I have this so far – your suggestions are welcome:

I’m Into Something Good

San Francisco Bay Blues

California Dreaming

Back Home Again

Groovin’ on a Sunday Afternoon

Build Me Up, Buttercup

Down on the Corner

I Can See Clearly Now

Here Comes the Sun

Sea Cruise

Sloop John B

Bottle of WIne

Drunken Sailor

Folsom Prison Blues/Pinball Wizard

Let’s Talk Dirty in Hawaiian

Happy Together

Jack has the info for Hogapalooza just right. This will be a laid back day, with a sign up sheet for players and a table of snacks. If you would like to bring food to share, please let me know so we can coordinate. Nothing complicated! I will bring the baritone uke in next week so you can see what we are raffling. $5 tickets I think.

Lastly: Marilyn and Spider have recorded a CD! Please contact her directly if you would like to buy one – they are $10 each.

Have a fun and safe New Year’s weekend. See you in 2024!

Susan

My Suzerain,

We had 11 members in attendance this evening. It was fairly low-key but fun.

First order of business was to try different songs that Susan had picked out for the Riverwoods performance. I think she has the setlist pretty much nailed down and it should be out in the next few days.

Some of the songs we tried:

Help! – We truly need a lot of help with this song.  No pun intended.

Build Me up Buttercup

Groovin’

Down on the Corner

I Can See Clearly Now

All the above need practice and will most likely be on the setlist.

Do You Love Me  key of G – please listen to the song and we will try it again next week.

Peaceful Easy Feeling – Susan will put the chords in the instrumental.

The rest of the evening was playing songs at random.

For those of you who like to join us on Saturday mornings, we’ll be meeting January 13th from 10:00 to 12:00 the library.

Please check Meetup for following events:

Riverwoods Exeter – January 15th

Hogapalooza – February 3rd  In case you haven’t heard, this will be our World Ukulele Day/Groundhog Day extravaganza.  It will be at the library. This event is open to all groups and individuals who want to do duets, solos, play as a group or just watch. If you know anyone who plays or a ukulele group please invite them.  This event is free of charge. We will be raffling off a very nice baritone ukulele.  All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Children’s Room of the library.  If you have any questions/comments on this event please contact Susan.

Thank you everyone for making this a great year for the Seacoast Ukulele players!

Happy New Year and we will see you next week.

Stay safe,

Jack
