Thanks, Jack!
Special thanks to Lauren for dusting off the trombone – what a great addition! All You Need is Love needs a little more Love, but this takes it to another level!
We recorded Ripple for Joan to send to her Arizona group. It’s a little rough, but likely coming to a Facebook post near you if we can figure it out.
I do hope everyone is thinking about the upcoming events, even though we are in the doldrums of winter. Some great music is happening every week, and it’s nice to have the occasional performance to keep us focused.
Please do spread the word and come if you can to the Hogapalooza! At least two other groups will be joining us and it’s a great opportunity to network and play together. I know there are splashier events happening, but we always have a great time focusing on the music. And come on, free food!
Thanks to all, and thank you for being awesome –
PS Jack meant SUP not SUO. But you knew that!
Susan

Dear Susan,
The overnight rain storm turned out to be a beautiful day for most of us.
Don’t forget, we will be at the library this Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00. We are hoping to see some of the people that have not been able to attend during the evening
We had 12 players this evening.
The highlight of the Meetup was Lauren playing trombone to All You Need is Love.
We began selling raffle tickets for the Cordoba baritone ukulele that will be raffled off at Hogapaloosa. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
We practiced a number of songs that will be doing this coming Monday at Riverwoods in Exeter. We tried out some new songs as well as older ones selected by various members.
The following need work:
All You Need is Love – Susan is going to carry out the end so it is less confusing. We still need to practice this song. If it doesn’t go well on Saturday it will be taken out of the Riverwoods setlist.
Drunken Sailor – the first verse is now the intro. Please pencil that in on your paper copy.
Let Your Love Flow – this was requested by Laura, one of the librarians. We did very well considering we’ve never played it before. She said we did a great job.
On Top of Old Smokey – let’s just say this was another dark song presented by one who will go nameless at this time.
For What It’s Worth – this song went well. We repeat the last verse 3 times. On the second and third time start with the word “stopped”
