Thanks, Jack for another stellar recap!
And thanks to all who came out and made this another SUPtastic night! We appreciate that winter evenings aren’t everyone’s favorite time to venture out, so thank you all for being there and making our group what it is.
What it is is often rather crazy, so thank you for remembering to welcome our new participants and help them out. And I would like to incorporate a section of easier songs each week so that our beginning players don’t get lost in the mayhem. Suggestions for how to make our meetups better are ALWAYS welcome. Of course, they may or may not see the light of day, but don’t be discouraged, keep trying. My brain doesn’t generally work in a straight line and I need reminders. Tell Jack and he will pester me.
The song index and pdf of song printouts are both on the website (under events) and in the comments section on Meetup, for the Brentwood Senior lunch. I have estimated 8-10 players for the Rec Department for lunches for us – so please do sign up if you plan to attend.
On March 6 we will play a portion of the Brentwood list for the Happy Seniors at the library. I will finalize that list and send it out this weekend.
The library staff gave us a very nice thank you card – please see attached. Next time you are in the library, please also take a look at the “giving tree” on the wall, where we now have TWO leaves!
Have a great week, all –
Susan

Good evening Susan,
Spring fever was definitely in the air this evening. We had 20 happy campers in attendance. At least I hope they were happy.
We spent the first portion of the night playing the song list for the upcoming Brentwood performance. Susan will be adding the song index to the website. The event is next Wednesday. As of now, we will be meeting at the Brentwood Rec Department at 11:30. Lunch is included with our performance. This is a great time, please sign up. All skill levels are welcome. That goes for all our performances. You have to start somewhere.
We played a bunch of other songs that were requested by various members. The following need attention:
Red Red Wine – needs practice
Learning to Fly – needs practice
Key Changes to be done by Susan:
Red River Valley
Strong Enough
First Cut
Sweet Dreams
Please remember, if you ever want to try a song, send it to Susan or me and we will put it on the website.
Events:
Brentwood Senior Luncheon 2/28
Happy Seniors at the Library 3/6
Riverwoods Manchester 4/12
Picnic and Play at Peggy’s House 7/17
For more information on these events please check Meetup.
We received a nice thank you note from the library for the Hogapalooza donation to the Children’s Program. They were very appreciative. I believe Susan is going to scan it and send it out to everyone.
If I missed anything please let me know.
Have a great remainder of the week.
Thank you all,
Jack
