Thank you, Dearest Tonto,
It was a fun evening and we continue to prove there is no such thing as too much ukulele. Thanks to our hardy players who attended the noontime gig and came back for more at the regular meetup! Love you guys!
Next week we will play for the Happy Seniors group starting at 1:30, for about a half hour. I have cut back on the Brentwood list to make it fit this time frame, and as Jack said, we have moved on to our Spring version of Sunny Afternoon (right, there is a real song there someplace!). I am attaching the list. All songs are on the website (Hazy Afternoon is in the Parody Songs list), but I will also do a pdf in case you want to print them all at once. Watch Meetup for that.
Please also be aware that we have tee shirts available:
Blue “traditional” What’s SUP?? shirts: We have 2 large, 5 XL and 1 2XL. These are now $17.
The new pink shirts, which are a softer blend material and have the logo on the front: 1 medium, 1 large. These are $30.
We can order more of either one, or take suggestions on a new shirt design/material/style. Just let us know if you want to claim an existing shirt or have us order more, preferably in an email so someone (me) does not forget.
We WILL be playing some Irish songs for St. Pats day over the next couple of weeks. Suggestions welcome!
Have a great week!
Susan

Dearest Susan,
We had 16 members in attendance. Many of them played earlier in the day at Brentwood. That performance was a lot of fun. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious.
We started the evening with King of the Road as a warmup. We proceeded to play the set list for the Happy Seniors performance next Wednesday. The song index for that performance is on meetup as well as the website. Please note since we are into allergy season, Snowy Afternoon will be replaced with Hazy Afternoon. Susan should be putting out an updated song PDF in the next few days.
After that we played a number of songs that Susan threw together in a PDF of random songs, some good, some strange. You can check them out on the website under the Meetup song list tab dated February 28th.
The following songs need either practice or some minor rework:
Back Home Again – Susan will remove the last C chord
Everyday – Susan will write out the instrumental
Singing the Blues – same as above and then it will be posted to the website
Too Ra Loo Ra/Irish Medley – Susan will put it in our standard song format
Make Your Own Kind Of Music – practice
First Cut – practice
St Patrick’s Day is coming up. If you have any songs you’d like the group to try please send them on to either Susan or me
Events:
Happy Seniors at the Library 3/6
You’ll need to bring paper copies of the music and a music stand. If you have a microphone and amplifier, please bring that as well. This is always fun.
Riverwoods Manchester 4/12
Picnic and Play at Peggy’s House 7/17
For more information on these events please check Meetup.
Please remember that all skill levels are welcomed at any of the performances. It’s all about having fun.
Have a great remainder there week and I hope to see many of you at the Happy Seniors and for our regular meetup later that day.
Thank you all for a great evening,
Jack AKA Tonto
