SUP Recap 3/6/2024

Hi, Everyone!

It was a fun Wednesday double-header; thanks to all who came out for the performance, the practice, or both!

Please do remember we will meet this Saturday from 10 to 12. My plan is to introduce my draft list for the Riverwoods Manchester performance (April 12), and take suggestions. I am working with Lee Evans of their house group, the Off Their Rockers, to include them on some or all of the songs – I am hoping Lee can make it on Saturday.

Other than that, we will be filling in our schedule with a monthly performance, and yes absolutely do let me know if you have a venue or event in mind. I am also considering places to have some outdoor practices in the good weather.

I will get to work on these things, and Jack’s honeydew list, over the next couple of days!

Thanks, all, for being awesome!

Susan

My Dear Susan,

We had a successful performance today for the Happy Seniors.  We were well received by this great group.

This evening we had 13 attendees.

It was pretty much a free for all with no planned songs. We did some Irish, Australian, Italian tunes and a bunch of other stuff chosen by the group.

Here are some songs that need a little something:

Our House – please listen to this at home. It will need some more practice.

The Irish Medley – Susan will work on the transition between the two songs.

Where Have All the Flowers Gone – Susan will add the last line to the Key of F version.

We will be deleting key of C version.

Blow the Man Down – Susan will work on this song to get it more playable and user friendly.

Once again, if anyone has a song(s) that they would like the group to try out, please send it along to Susan and me.

Events:

Riverwoods Manchester 4/12

Picnic and Play at Peggy’s House 7/17

For more information on these events please check Meetup.

If you know of someplace that would like us to play, please pass that info on to Susan. We do not charge for our performances. If someone is willing to give us some money, we will put it towards our expenses and possible future donations.

It was a fun time as usual.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget we will be at the library this Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00.

Thanks,

Jack
