SUP Recap 4/10/2024

Hi All –

Thanks for coming out tonight!
I know it was a lot of repetition of familiar songs, but we know we are ready for Friday! We will NOT be attempting “In Harmony” as part of the performance, but anyone who is there ahead of time or wants to stay at the end can give it a try with Lee Evans – and if we like it, we will get it ready for another date!

I will catch up the website with our newer songs in the next couple of days. We have some promising new songs, and they are worth developing. What I love about our group is that we keep growing and trying new things!

So, Jack would make a comment here about my selectiveness on songs.

Jack is also enjoying some fun with our kemosabe- tonto relationship. I think he may have bought a boat.

Love you guys!
See you Friday/Saturday/next week. We have a great spring and summer coming up!

Susan

Good evening Susan,

It was a very fun evening with 21 enthusiastic members in attendance.  Some of us we’re still recovering from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain performance in Portland last night.  I highly recommend this group to anyone who has a chance to see them.

If anyone would like to recycle their solar eclipse glasses, please bring them to one of our meetups in the next week or so. Patty announced that Avita Assisted Living is collecting them.  They will send them to Central America to allow children to view the upcoming eclipse down there.

Don’t forget, our last Saturday Spring Meetup at the Seabrook Library will be this Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00.  The next one will be at the Kingston Rec May 11.

We ran through all the songs for the Riverwoods performance this Friday. Things went well.

Susan added some additional songs that we’ve tried in the past plus a couple of new ones.

Sunshine – Susan will learn the ending and pass it on

Please Mr Postman – Susan to fix again

Life is Beautiful – this needs practice. It is not on the website yet but will be in the near future.

Gold – Susan to work on it.

Come Sail Away – this went fairly well for the first time playing it. It needs practice. It will be on the website once it is put into SUP format.

Lauren said that the version that we played tonight is in the same key as the YouTube video. If anyone would like that version please respond to this email and Susan or I will send it. Otherwise stay tuned until it appears on the website.

Have a great evening and try to stay dry. It looks like we have a great stretch of weather coming once we make it to Saturday.

Take care,

Tonto
