SUP Recap 4/17/2024

Hi, Everyone,

I have nothing to add to this recap – good job, dear Jack!

I will be sure to honor you on  I.S. Day.

PLease do let me know what you think about songs for Assisted Living on May 18. We have not played there, so the field is wide open! I am looking at a good mix of familiar and fun.

Thank you all for your ideas and excellent playing and singing. It’s always a blast!

Susan

Good evening Susan,

We had 15 in attendance for this meetup.

For those of you who were here when Barbara and Martha would play us, we had a brief video call with them at the beginning of practice today.  They both look and sounded great. They plan on coming back to New Hampshire at some point this summer at which time they will be the guests of honor at whatever practice they choose. Thanks for the call Martha and Barbara. Keep up the good work.

Susan is working on the set list for the All American Assisted Living performance.

She is asking for people to submit three suggestions for the venue. She hopes to have the setlist ready for next week. Please send your suggestions as soon as possible.

We tried some new songs this week:

Somewhere Beyond the Sea – Key change

Bears Just Want to Have Fun – a new parody by Susan inspired by Patty. Needs practice. This is intended for a performance at the Kingston Rec following a talk about black bears. This event has not been posted to Meetup yet but I believe it is in early June.

Songs that need something:

Please Mister Postman – this was much better this week. We will continue to practice and possibly use it at the All American Assisted Living performance in May.

Rawhide – this went very well considering we haven’t played it in at least a year. It will be added back onto the website. How it disappeared  remains a mystery.

Lady Madonna – practice

The following songs need to be reformatted:

Beep Beep

Come Sail Away – by the way, we did a very nice acapella version of this song.

Events:

Play at the All American Assisted Living Kingston – May 18

Let’s Play for the Seniors at Rockingham – June 20

Kingston Volunteers and Employee Picnic – June 21

Picnic and Play At Peggy’s House Nottingham – July 17

As you can see, there’s a lot of new events planned. You can find information on all of these on our Meetup page.

Please let us know if you see any errors, omissions or if you have any questions or comments.

Thank you for coming out this evening,

Jack, Susan’s Indentured Servant

Jan, is there an Indentured Servants Day?

Asking for a friend.
