SUP Recap 4/24/2024

Hi, Jack and All:

Thank you for the recap as always!

And also thanks to all who humored my attempt to change the key on “I Can See Clearly”. We will stick with the easier-to-play key of D, and everyone with high voices will cover me at the bridge!

I am preparing a summer newsletter that I will send out soon, which will hopefully keep us all on track with dates and times.

I think Jack got it all. I will just say, I feel fine. You know I am always flexible.

Susan

Dear Susan,

Crazy weather day but a fun evening with 18 in attendance.

We started off the evening with a photo shoot. The children’s room had a stuffed animal sleepover.  They brought the stuffies into our practice. They think the kids will love it. Hopefully we will get a copy of the photo.

We also viewed a video of Joan’s Arizona ukulele group performing Ripple. They did a great job. Thank you Joan. We, in turn, recorded our performance for Joan to share.

We played some random songs from a PDF that Susan provided followed by songs chosen by the group. I have to say Susan was very flexible this evening. Some of us are wondering if she was feeling okay. Just sayin’.

You Are My Sunshine – Susan posted a new version of this song to the website. It will be used in some of our performances going forward. Please swap out your old copies.

I Can See Clearly Now – a new version in a different key was attempted. The group decided to go with the old version in the key of D.  The website and PDF for the AAAL performance will be updated in the next few days.

Please Mr Postman – Susan to take out the word “and” In the last line and wherever else needed.  This can be a pen and ink change for those who already have the latest version printed.

What a Wonderful World – Susan to fix the Fm7 issue.

We are seeking suggestions for an opening song to be played every week. Something easy for a warm-up. We have already received some excellent suggestions from Jan.  If you have anything in mind please send it to Susan and me.

Due to popular demand, Jambalaya will remain our closing song.
