Thank you, Jack!
It was indeed an odd instrument night. Some odd people too, but that’s just the way we roll.
It’s May! We have lots of things going on and I hope everyone comes out to play…
I am putting together a list of songs for the May 11 Saturday practice so everyone can be prepared with paper copies. We will run through the list for AAAL, of course, and I also want to work on the Bears and Ukuleles set. The special bear songs are being fine tuned and at this practice we will be able to see how they go with a small group. Anyone who plans to play with us on June 1: please sign up! The Rec is excited to have us there and they have made a really cute poster, see attached.
Have a great week!
Susan

Happy May Day Susan,
We had 14 in attendance this evening. The sun came out just in time after dreary couple of days.
For some unknown reason, it was odd instrument night. Susan had a xylophone. Tom had a Kalimba thumb piano and something that I have no idea what the name of it is. It was like a one man band percussion pole. If someone knows what it is, please let me know. More cowbell Tom.
Susan put together another PDF of various songs. Once again they can be found on our website under Meetup Song Lists PDFs.
We had a couple of announcements. I’m not sure if everyone heard them.
We will be meeting at the Kingston Rec Saturday 5/11. This will be a normal Saturday Meetup with some practice for the All American Assisted Living ( AAAL) performance which is 5/18.
Susan also announced that she has posters ready for the Mighty Ukes Summer Jam, AKA Susapalooza, and the Ukuleles and Bears Oh My event.
She also has a summer newsletter that will be sent out in the very near future.
The following songs need something:
Bring Me Sunshine – She decided to change the version that we currently play. If you are attending AAAL, please check for an updated PDF. I’m not sure when she will do that but she will let us know.
Bears Just Want to Have Fun – Susan to review. The song is a bit of a struggle but it’s definitely doable. We have a month to get it under control before the performance.
Teddy Bear Picnic – practice
Come Sail Away – It is now on the website. We had a request a couple weeks ago before Susan updated the format. She needs to remove one set of “They said” and remove a G chord. She knows which one. This also needs to be practiced. Lauren said that you can play along with the YouTube video. They are the same key.
