Hi, all, and thank you, Jack!
It was a fun evening! I am always glad to see and hear everyone, and it was a special treat to see our Bev back at the library!
One correction only:
the change from “dear” to “bear” is in Bears Just Want to Have Fun.
I am really going to try to get these corrections made asap.
Please everyone listen to the songs and be brave about correcting us on what we have wrong. As I said tonight, when practicing on my own I do take liberties, so I am not always the best one to teach the tricky parts of a song. Feel free to step forward and help at any time! Otherwise we will all learn my alternate version, and you will have nobody to blame but yourselves.
Stay safe and cheerful until we meet again….
Susan
PS Thank you Lauren for bringing the bear mask…. so great!

Good evening Susan,
It was nice that the rain stopped for our Meetup this evening. It was a fun filled evening with 17 in attendence including one returnee from Florida. The one and only Bev Eskel!
We will be meeting this Saturday at the library from 10:00 to noon. Please sign up if you plan on attending.
We started the evening with a number of bear songs in preparation for a June 1st performance. Among them were three new parodies. One from Patty with a darkish ending, I’d Like to Teach a Bear to Sing.
A very informative one from yours truly, Mama Black Bear. Although someone said that there was a dark verse in it. I guess that depends on which person you are in that verse. And one that was a group effort, In Heaven There are No Bears.
Check them out on our website.
The following songs need something:
Bare Necessities – Please listen to this song at home and we will continue to practice it.
Bears Just Wanna Have Fun – change the word “dear” to “bear”
Teddy Bears Picnic – listen to this and we will continue to practice.
Thank You for Being a Friend – practice
Come Sail Away – remove third “They said”

Play at the All American Assisted Living Kingston – May 18

Thank you all for coming out and for being very helpful with your suggestions and comments. They are always welcome as are song suggestions.
See you next week,
Jack , Susan’s mildly abused sidekick
