Thank you, Jack!
…yes, those were some tricky Beatles songs. Sorry….. but not really, it’s fun to try!
Please do sign up for the Bears performance. We will most likely set up outside in the playground, and be ready to go as soon as the Bear talk is done. I am always happy to try to help Paul at Kingston Rec with his events, as he is very accommodating to us with OUR events.
Have a good Memorial Day weekend, all!

Good evening Susan,
The crazy weather continues. It was a very warm day and evening but the library was nice and cool. We had 18 in attendance. It was nice to see some of our Newburyport/Amesbury people returning.
Bill brought in a ukulele shaped cutting board for our Mighty Ukes Summer Jam raffle. It was donated by one of the members of the Ukulele Songsters. Much appreciated.
We are looking for people to join us at Ukuleles and Bears show at the Kingston Rec. It should be a very informative presentation followed by an amazing performance by SUP.
We practiced all our bear songs for the aforementioned performance. We also played a number of other songs that Susan put together including some very difficult Beatles Tunes. At least I found them difficult.
We have a few songs that need some attention:
Bare Necessities – repeat last line and remove the [C]. Jan suggested that we do something to the instrumental to make it stand out more.
Bears Just Wanna Have Fun – There was an older version on the screen this evening. If you have that version change Mother dear and daddy dear to Mother bear and Daddy bear.
In Heaven There Are No Bears – We will sing through it once, then kazoo it once and then sing through it again. We are changing the shout outs on the last verse. After the first line we yell DUCK, second line HIDE, third line RUN.
Your Mother Should Know – Susan loves this song. Please listen to it when you get a chance.
Life is Beautiful – This is another one that everyone should listen to when they have time. It has great potential. In case you’re unaware it is by Keb’ Mo’
All the practice PDFs are on the website under the Meetup Song List PDFs tab. If you ever have trouble finding something do not hesitate to reach out to me.
We got some good song suggestions this evening. Please keep them coming.
