SUP Recap 6/19/2024

Thanks, Jack, and thanks everyone who came out tonight!

We are always happy to welcome new players, and I hope everyone had a good time. We are not professional, but not a beginner group either, and there is a lot of socializing so I can imagine it sometimes feels like a bit much…. but honestly, we are all beginners at heart and the main thing we want is for everyone to have fun. If there is something we can improve, please let me or Jack know!

Tomorrow, we will be in the Hilton auditorium at the Rockingham County nursing facility. It is a great place and will be a fun performance!

On Friday, we will play for the third time at the Employees/Volunteers picnic in Kingston. This is at the DPW garage so we will have a gigantic space with open doors but a roof overhead. SO weather is not a factor. Lunch is included!

Busy week!

See you all here, there and everywhere, to quote one of our favorite bands…..

Dear Fearless Leader,

We had 24 in attendance on this very warm evening. The library was not as cool as we would have liked but it was cooler than being outside.

We also had three new members join us this evening, welcome Gail, Cindy and Eco.

This evening was spent going through the song lists for the Rockingham County Nursing Home and the Kingston Employee/Volunteer Picnic. It is never too late for you to join us at these. The more the merrier.

Next week we hope to return to our normal routine. Whatever that may be.

This is where I usually list songs that need some work that we should listen to when practice. We didn’t have any this week but if you have time please listen to:

Help Me Rhonda

Come Sail Away

Fun, Fun, Fun

And anything else you’d like us to try.

For those attending the events this week please check Meetup or our website for the up to date song sheets. The link to the PDFs is listed under the event.

Please remember that all events are open to everyone regardless of skill level. Susan once said that she’s just looking for warm bodies and smiling faces.  There’s nothing wrong with lip syncing and air strumming, or any combination of that. Trust me, you will have fun.

If anyone has any comments, questions, suggestions etc please do not hesitate to contact either Susan or me.

I hope everyone can stay cool and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone next week if not sooner.

Take care

Jack AKA Tonto
