Hi, Jack,
We really ought to cut out the middle woman… you do all the work!
This was a great practice, despite the tight quarters on a warm night… in fact, I think the tight quarters made it extra good, as we could all hear each other. We sounded FANTASTIC, and I do hope the politicians that commandeered our big room enjoyed the music!
Please do come to Kingston on Saturday if you can. Aside from practice by the lake, we will be ready to take pre-sale raffle tickets. We have some great stuff:
– Kala Baritone uke with strap and bag
– Aklot beginner kit concert ukulele (everythingi is included and it sounds really good!)
– Ukudelic Soprano ukulele with bag (o pretty!)
– wooden charcuterie board, hand made locally, ukulele (of course) shaped
– gorgeous ukulele themed hand made (by our own Carol) tote bag
-Jack for lunch (trust me, this is the best prize)
Pictures are attached I hope. I am tired.(**** some would not load, I will try again when I am awake! ****)
Thank you Jack, for all you do. It is often a miserable and thankless job being my Tonto, and you have been endlessly patient and supportive . I promise to be less awful.
.Thank you all, and welcome back, Barbara and Martha!
Susan

Dear Susan,
Yes everyone you read it right it is July 10th. The summer is flying by.
We had 26 enthusiastic players crammed into the small children’s room at the library. We also had our guests of honor Martha and Barbara, all the way from Florida. I believe they are going to be in the area for another couple of months and we hope to have them every Wednesday and at the meetups if they can. You both look great.
Speaking of meetups, we will not be at the library next week. Everyone is invited to Peggy’s house in Nottingham on Pawtuckaway lake. An email was forwarded from Peggy with directions and everything you need to know. If for some reason you don’t have that email reach out to either Susan or myself and we will send it to you. Peggy is asking that everyone sign up on Meetup. She needs to know how many to expect. At that event, we will be practicing the songs for the Mighty Ukes Summer Jam taking place a week from Saturday July 20. Bring you a paper copies and a music stand if you have one or you can share. Don’t worry there’ll be plenty of time for fun and games. Peggy has a rain date of the following Wednesday. I will let Susan clarify that if if it does rain we will meet at the library.
This Saturday July 13th, we will be meeting from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Kingston Rec to practice for the Mighty Uke Summer Jam.
If you have the free time please join us and bring your stand and paper copies of the songs.
Today we practiced all the songs for the 20th.
Specifically:
Come Sail Away
Summer in the City
San Francisco Bay Blues
Please Mr Postman
Help Me Rhonda
All You Need is Love
We also did a couple of songs In anticipation of the upcoming car shows and other events:
Little Deuce Coupe
At the Hop
L.O.V.E.
Hello Mary Lou
Mickey Mouse Club Theme
Low Rider
Everything went fairly well except Low rider.
It was much better last week probably because we could hear the music in the background. We have plenty of time to learn this before the car shows. As Susan said last week we can have shakers, kazoos, people picking ukuleles, people drumming on ukuleles and of course the cowbell.
I think I heard Bev saying something about Calypso lessons. Just sayin’

Please remember that all events are open to everyone regardless of skill level. Susan once said that she’s just looking for warm bodies and smiling faces. There’s nothing wrong with lip syncing and air strumming, or any combination of that. Trust me, you will have fun.
If anyone has any comments, questions, suggestions etc please do not hesitate to contact either Susan or me.
Tonight was a lot of fun and it was nice to see some of the familiar faces back with us. If I didn’t call you out, and you feel left out, please let me know and I will make sure that I tease you at the next opportunity.
Thank you everyone for being so awesome,
Jack, Tonto, Rodney Dangerfield. I get no respect and most of the time I don’t deserve it.
Stay Cool!!!!!
