SUP Recap 9/11/2024

Hi, Jack!
It was great to be back in the fold. Thank you, and thanks to all for enduring some painful moments and less than great songs… I had fun anyway, and I hope it was fun for all.

As I said tonight, do not be discouraged from coming to either the Exeter Market or the car show based on some rocky practices. If a song is not ready, we won’t do it – we have plenty of tried and true selections to plug in if needed.

I have the pdfs done for tomorrow, just in the nick of time. Please note that Set 2 will now start with Come Sail Away rather than Proud Mary. We still have too many questions about Mary. Those lists are on the website  -under Events, and Exeter Farm Market.

I will next post them on the Meetup post for the event. If you don’t want to keep re-printing pages I understand, and encourage you to just compare your old copies with the pdf to make sure you have the latest version of everything.

I am sure I am forgetting something  – Jack will let me know!

Thanks and I hope to see some smiling faces tomorrow!

Susan

Dear Susan,

It was nice to have you back this week. We had 20 in attendance.

I usually get to the events later in the recap but I wanted to mention that we will be playing at the Exeter Farmers Market tomorrow from 3:00 to 6 :00. There’s plenty of room if you would like to join us. Please be there by 2:30. Susan will post a PDF of all the songs this evening. Come Sail Away will be added to the song list. The details are on Meetup. The weather is looking great. Temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. It should be a great afternoon. Hope to see you there.

I forgot to mention at the Meetup this evening that we will be meeting this Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 at the library. Saturdays are always fun.  We will be practicing some songs for the car show but there will be plenty of time to play any requests.  If you have a song you would like the group to try, send it along.

Following need work:

Pretty Woman – listen to the song.

Proud Mary – needs practice

I Fought the Law – add a g cord with four beats between every verse. Remove the string of cords at the end of the verses that start with “I left my baby”

Can’t Help Falling in Love – Please note this is a new version by Twenty One pilots. Practice

Chantilly Lace – Susan will play along with the spoken part.  Everyone else will join in with the singing. The song needs to be stretched out for easier scrolling.

Events:

Play at the Exeter Farm Market – Seacoast Eats Local – September 12

Dream Dinner Car Show Redux – Tyngsborough -September 21

Coppal House Farm Craft Fair – Lee, NH – October 19

Please check Meetup for the latest information on all events.

These events are open to everyone.  Please join us.

If you have any questions comments or suggestions please send them in.

Susan, if I forgot anything or made any errors, please correct.

Thank you everyone.

I hope to see you Saturday morning,

Jack
