SUP Recap 9/18/2024

Good afternoon, All –

Thank you, Jack for another prompt and informational recap!

The car show list has gone through some changes due to limited practice time. The list is still valid, except we added MTA and took out the songs Jack mentions in his recap.

I am going to add in a few tried and true just to fill out the list – I will get to that tonight; please check Meetup if you are attending.

IMPORTANT: Next week, September 25, we will NOT be meeting at the library. Instead, we are scheduled to meet at Lauren and Tom’s house in Brentwood for our third annual garage band party!

Rain date will be October 2 – if it rains we will be at the library as usual. Once again, please check on Meetup for details, including address.

We are sad to say goodbye to Barbara and Martha! But we want to stay in touch, so Barbara gave me their contact info: email is Beachgals9275@gmail.com for Barbara and Beachgals0188@gmail.com for Martha. Their address is :

816 Weeping Willow Ave.

The Villages, FL  32159

Best wishes to you both!

After Saturday we will start planning for our Coppal House Farm event on October 19. Beyond that, we will certainly do some things over the holidays, but I look forward to getting creative with new songs and Meetup themes over the winter, and not always practicing for an event. We will work on incorporating more Saturdays too, as Wednesday evenings are definitely getting darker.

On the other side of winter will be our second Hogapalooza – let’s brainstorm how to make it better than ever.

Thanks to all for your good humor and enthusiasm, even when the songs are painful—-

Susan

Good evening Susan,

Is it just me or are the days, weeks and months flying by this year. I can’t believe it’s the 18th.

We had a nice Meetup this evening with 20 members.

We went over some songs that Susan thought were not going well to see if we could make them better.

Fun Fun Fun, 409, The Weight, Born to Be Wild all need practice.

Once again, those attending the car show are invited back to Tom’s house after the performance.

We have plenty of room for anyone who would like to attend. We are performing from 9:00 to 11 with a break in the middle. Come on down!

We said goodbye to Barbara and Martha this evening. They are selling their camper and moving to Florida permanently. It’s sad to see them go, we’re going to miss them but they are off to bigger adventures. You can follow them on Facebook as well as The Caring Bridge. Good luck you two.

Events:

Dream Dinner Car Show Redux – Tyngsborough -September 21.  The PDF the set list and the songs are not on Meetup for some reason. But you can find them on the website.  Click on the event on the homepage. If it’s easier contact me and I will email you everything you need. Those attending please note that Susan has removed The Weight from the setlist. I was going to say she dropped The Weight, but I’ll leave the bad puns to Bill. She remains adamant that we will be doing that song again.  I wish she was that adamant about some of my songs.

Coppal House Farm Craft Fair – Lee, NH – October 19. I haven’t confirmed this with Susan but this may be somewhat Halloween themed.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m working on a costume.

Please check Meetup for the latest information on all events.

That’s all I have for now, I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten a couple of things. Don’t hesitate to let me know.

Thank you all for attending. I hope to see you all soon,

Jack
