Thank you, Jack, for the recap even though you had to leave and had a late night!
I think we managed to at least introduce the (proposed) Hogapalooza songs. As you say, they all need work, and my thought is that adding the bass will make a big difference on most of them.
We will go through these more on Saturday, so anyone that will be coming, please listen to the songs if you can so you can help me get the tricky parts right and be able to suggest improvements.
They are all on the website on the Songs page, but I will also put together a pdf in order of play once we finalize the list.
After Jack and Patty left for the concert (which sounded fantastic, congratulations, Tom!), the rest of us went through one of my lists of random favorites and totally destroyed a couple of them. Comment of the night: “I USED to like that song.”
But it was fun! Thanks to Lauren for help with scrolling and singing, and also to the Myers gang for helping get me on track with a few of the songs.
January is flying by, which is okay by me. But I hope we will have good turnout for the next few practices so we can finalize songs and plans for Feb. 2. It will be a laid back event and it’s always fun to get together with the other groups!
See you all soon – try to stay warm!
Susan

Dear Susan,
Considering the weather, we had a good turnout this evening. Seventeen members braved the sub-zero wind chills.
During the irst half of the meeting we went through a number of songs that we’re thinking about for Hogapalooza 2. These are all new songs and every one of them needs work.
Do You Believe in Magic
Your Mama Don’t Dance
Black is Black
Friday I’m in Love
I’ll Melt with You
Down at the Twist and Shout
At this point, I left the meeting to attend a concert by The New horizon Band. Our very own Tom Savage is the tuba player. He’s just as good on the tuba as he is on the bass. See attached photo.
Reminder: We will be at the library this Saturday from 10:00 to 12 :00. If you’re around please join us. Hopefully it won’t be as windy.
We also have a Saturday practice scheduled for January 25th at the Kingston Rec building. This is a warm-up session for Hogapalooza 2.
Events:
Hogapalooza 2 – Kingston Rec – February 2
See Meetup for details
That’s all I have, Susan could you please fill us in on anything else we need to know.
Stay warm and I hope to see you all again soon,
Jack Frost
