SUP Recap 2/5/2025

There was a major omission from my recap. I neglected to thank Tom and Bill for their hard work setting up the sound system. It sounded great.  You are truly appreciated.

HI, Everybody!
Thanks, Jack, it was a fun night.

I don’t know about you, but I am still catching up from Sunday!

I am working on getting us some play dates, starting in March or April and then continuing with one per month. As Jack said, suggestions are welcome!

We found a water bottle and glasses after the event – see picture, and let me know if they are yours!

I am trying to get videos out to all – I will likely send them to Jack for help in getting them on the website, but I am attaching a couple here for starters. I hope they transfer okay. It’s entertaining to watch ourselves – and it’s also helpful to know where we can improve. Not to say we weren’t perfect

Have a good snowy day – hoping you don’t need to go anywhere.

See some of you on Saturday, which will likely be another laid-back jam, with a few love songs for upcoming Valentine’s Day.

Hi Susan,

We had 14 in attendance on this chill evening. And our first evening back after Hogapalooza II.

It was a night of playing random songs picked out by various people.  I have to say that Susan was pretty open-minded, not 100%, but pretty much accepting of our song choices.  I’m not sure if she wasn’t feeling well or maybe she was still coming down from the great time Sunday at the Kingston Rec.

We had one new song, Everybody’s Talking About Me.  A challenging song, but it went well for our first attempt.

For those who were not able to make Hogapalooza II, it was a very fun day.  All the groups were excellent. There was quite a range of songs.. including many ground hog parodies. The open mic was a lot of fun as well.

We had many volunteers who helped with everything from setting up chairs, cleaning and bringing snacks and drinks.  With the risk of leaving someone out I want to thank Noreen and Diane for the great job they did at the refreshment table. I also want to thank Marilyn for her hard work with the raffle.  This year we only had one winner from our group.  Jan won the banjolele.

The raffle was very successful. We were able to give a large donation to the Kingston Rec as well as cover our Meetup and Website expenses for this year and part of next year.

There are currently no events on the schedule.

If you have any suggestions please let Susan know. We’ve played at senior citizens luncheons, nursing homes, assisted living centers, farmers markets, beer fests, car shows, library events, active retirement communities, employee appreciation parties, museum open houses, the list goes on.  Bottom line, we are open to anything. The best part is, we play for free.  Unless someone wants to give us a donation.

As a reminder, we will be at the library for practice from 10:00 to 12:00 this Saturday.  We will probably try some love songs for Valentine’s Day and some love gone bad songs as well. The rest of the time will be spent on your choice of songs. This is our normal second Saturday of the month through the winter Meetup.

Thank you all for yet again another fun night.

Stay warm,

A much appreciative Jack / Tonto
