Hello, All,
Thank you, Jack, for yet another excellent recap. And thank you all for coming out in the cold, and then enduring some occasional rough sledding with the songs! It’s always fun, but not always pretty.
I will bring back some… possibly not all… of the songs Jack listed to revisit next week, along with a mix of recent songs we want to keep working on for our spring and summer outings. Jack and I (right, Jack?) will also be going through the website songs to be sure everything that is posted is in usable form.
Please send along whatever song ideas you may have! We will add them into the mix. It’s easiest if I can see them first and be ready with a version that is most user-friendly (not to mention, learn them if need be).
I’m looking forward to the light and warmth that is slowly returning… we are going to make it! And I hope everyone that has been struggling with colds and flu will be in full health soon. Playing and singing, no matter how badly, is always a mood changer!
See you next week –
Susan

Good evening Susan,
It was another Cold evening but at least the wind finally died down.
Susan did not have time to put together a PDF. Instead, she dragged out some songs that we tried in the past.
Hear a few of the songs we tried:
Let Me be There – needs practice
Those Were the Days – Susan is contemplating a key change and we’ll make sure the la las line up.
Try to Remember – practice
On the Road Again – Susan will listen to the song and take it from there.
Me and Bobby McGee – Susan prefers the Kris Kristofferson version. That will be posted to the website in the near future.
We spent a good portion of the evening playing random songs from the website. It was suggested that we take one or two from each letter of the alphabet to avoid getting stuck and not getting deep into the song list. Today we started the the list in reverse order. We left off on the letter I. To be continued next time we have a free-for-all.
Never hesitate to throw out a suggestion. Despite what Bill said, the person suggesting the song does not have to lead it. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. In this case. his designer luggage filled with noise makers.
Events –
CCS Epping – Play on the Purple Porch – Epping NH May 10th. This is an art show. Space is limited. Susan is putting a limit on the initial amount of participants. However, we don’t want to shut anyone out. We will put as many people on the porch and hopefully in front of the porch as possible and then we can swap out people on different songs. We always make it work. Check Meetup for more information. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank one of our members, Paola, for recommending SUP!
There are a few more performances in the works but no details at this time.
Hope to see you all next week and I really hope it’s at least a little bit warmer. It’s nice to see that the days are getting longer.
Take care,
Jack
