Thank you, Jack –
Spring is trying really hard to be sprung! The Groundhog was correct as usual.
Tonight was fun and my microphone was not really needed. Feedback on how to make our Wednesdays better for all is always welcome.
I hope to see some of you on Saturday. We will likely do a few more horse songs just because having a theme is fun. But I hope we can also start talking about setlists for senior residences that I am in the process of setting up. Fresh and fun, yet reliable, is my goal. Suggestions encouraged!
Thank you all for continuing to be a part of this happy celebration of amateur music. We are awesome!
Have a great week and keep that ukulele handy – it is essential equipment.
-Susan

Hi Susan,
We had 20 in attendance the 50° evening.
Susan came up with another PDF of songs. Some went well, some didn’t. That’s par for the course.
Days Like These – this went well considering it was the first time we’ve ever played it.
Sunshine – went well
Country Roads – a familiar song that went very well. One thing I find slightly confusing as the scrolling person, is the “repeat chorus” in red throughout the song. The chorus is right below that. In other words the song goes straight down. I don’t need to scroll up and down so those words can be removed.
Help Me Rhonda – We sounded good. Tom’s falsetto voice is back
Jackson – timing issues. We need to listen to it in practice.
Horse with No Name – pretty good for never doing the song before
If I had a Boat – practice
That’ll be the Day – needs work
Your Cheating Heart – delete the last four chords. The bass will do a walk down.
Susan said she would add an instrumental
Rawhide – fun song
Red River Valley – repeat first verse at the end of the song
She’s Not There – listen to it when you have a chance. A few people thought it needed an instrumental
Love is All You Need – we’ve done the song successfully in the past. We need to get reacquainted with it. And we need Lauren’s trombone
Wagon Wheel – this one went very well as usual. Remember to end on a G
The remainder of the evening was spent continuing our countdown from I to A. I believe we got as far as C
Events –
CCS Epping – Play on the Purple Porch – Epping NH – May 10th. This is an art show. Space is limited. Susan is putting a limit on the initial amount of participants. However, we don’t want to shut anyone out. We will put as many people on the porch and hopefully in front of the porch as possible and then we can swap out people on different songs. We always make it work. Check Meetup for more information. Thank one of our members, Paola, for recommending SUP!
Hidden Pond Equine Rescue Open House: Play for the Horses! – Brentwood, NH – June 7th.
Thank you Lauren for arranging. this performance.
If you have any horse song suggestions please send them along.
Please see Meetup for additional information.
If anyone has a relative or a friend in a nursing home or an assisted living facility and would like us to perform at that establishment please let us know.
Reminder, we will be meeting at the library for the second Saturday of the Month Meetup March 8th from 10:00 to 12:00.
Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead this weekend.
Have a great one,
Jack
