SUP Recap 3/26/2025

Thank you, Jan and Jack, for leading! I am sure it was a nice change for all, but I WILL be back next week.

Yes, Sonny, I also am appreciating the lighter evenings. Now for a little more warmth!

It’s time to start forming the list for the purple porch. I do want to intersperse the group songs with a few solos and duets, so please think about that. It will

make for a more interesting performance while allowing for breaks, too. Come on, you know you want to!

Have a great week, all. I look forward to strumming with you next week –

Susan

Hi Susan and Jan

Jan, feel free to make corrections or add anything to this before Susan sends it out

Susan. I know you weren’t here this evening but I’m sending this to you to forward to the group when you get a chance.

We had 19 in attendance this evening.

Jan was the substitute lead this evening. She did a great job. I know firsthand that it’s not easy. Kudos Jan.

Despite the fact that Susan wasn’t there she was still able to provide a PDF for this evening. As Jan said. If you have an issue with the songs blame Susan. At least that’s what I think she said.

Here are some observations on some of the songs:

Red River Valley – The abridged version went well.

Have You Ever Seen the Rain – needs to be reworked.

Three Little Birds – this went well. Lauren did a great job whistling in place of the kazoo.

I hear You Knocking – needs practice. I think we need to verify the counts.

Call Me The Breeze – practice

Days Like These – We watched the video to try to figure out the timing. Needs practice.

Stray Cat Strut – We haven’t played this in a while. It’s important to remember that the at the end of the instrumentals the Am is strummed four times.

Don’t Think Twice – Walter requested this. We found it on ozbcoz.com in the key of C. This went well for never playing it before. I think everyone enjoyed it and it should be added to our our website.

To all attendees, feel free to send any comments or corrections to me or Susan.

Events –

CCS Epping – Play on the Purple Porch – Epping NH May 10th. This is an art show. Space is limited. Susan is putting a limit on the initial amount of participants. However, we don’t want to shut anyone out. We will put as many people on the porch and hopefully in front of the porch as possible and then we can swap out people on different songs. We always make it work. Check Meetup for more information. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank one of our members, Paola, for recommending SUP!

Hidden Pond Equine Rescue Open House: Play for the Horses! – Brentwood, NH – June 7th.

Thank you Lauren for arranging. this performance.

If you have any horse song suggestions please send them along.

Please see Meetup for additional information

Riverwoods Exeter – July 17th.  We are waiting for the social director to confirm the date. This will be posted on Meetup once confirmed.

All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th  – More details will be forthcoming once it’s posted on Meetup

There’s a new supply of SUP! Buttons available for free.  Susan has them.  Will put them out next week when she returns.

She also mentioned in one of the recaps that she’s thinking about ordering more SUP shirts. They will be in the same color with the same logo. She is looking for suggestions on different types of shirts that might be more comfortable. You can send her suggestions or we can discuss it when she’s available.

I don’t know about anyone else but I appreciated that it was still light out when we wrapped it up this evening

Have a great weekend and hopefully we’ll see all of you again next week.
