Hi, Jack,
Thanks again for all you do, including documenting the highlights from practice each week. I can’t remember anything for long, so this is so helpful!
It was great to have such a large group and some new members. It was also fun to have Patty and Jack introduce “6 Days on the Road”. You did a great job and we will definitely be adding that to the itinerary.
Speaking of songs, we had talked about repeating songs more (week to week) so we can learn them. Last night I brought back ‘I Love a Rainy Night” and “Our House”, both recent additions. “Let Me Be There” was a trial song several months ago that I had to make changes to. I am also trying to bring back old favorites on a regular basis, not only because we love them but because I don’t want them to get rusty! I will continue trying to mix old and new, easy and challenging each week. But if there are songs you think got lost, a new song you would like to try, or an old favorite that you want to play, please email me, or put a comment on Meetup! I try to get the list posted by Sunday each week.
The Purple House porch performance is coming right up, so I will put together a list for that. It is a long day, so expect a long list, mainly things we can do with minimal practice. We will also mix in some duets and solos.
Thanks to all for your friendship and enthusiastic participation! I do love Wednesdays!
Susan

Hi Susan,
In spite of the fact that we only had six members sign up on Meetup, we had 29 in attendance this evening.
There is no requirement to sign up on Meetup, but if you check, it you’ll find Susan’s PDF for the current week. You can also find it on our website seacoastukuleleplayers.com
Some of the songs we tried are as follows:
Let Me Be There – needs practice
Our House – this was a little trickier than it looked. We need to practice and I believe Susan is going to write out the “la las”
Can’t Help Falling in Love – Susan wants to do this in the style of Twenty One Pilots. Please watch the video. It needs to be practiced. There’s still a lot of debate on the timing.
Love a Rainy Night – needs practice. If you have time please watch this video.
Paulina Sinaga cover: https://youtu.be/Ns0bkr_oDEo
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down – practice
Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys – needs a lot of practice. Please listen to the song. I think Susan intends to include it at the Equine Rescue event.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow – practice
We had a request for Horse with No Name. We have practiced it before but for some reason it’s not on the website.
Susan, if you give me the okay I’ll dig it out and put it on the website.
If you have any song suggestions please pass them on to us. You do not have to lead them unless you want to.
As an example, Patty suggested Six Days on the Road. We practice it for about 30 minutes and presented it to the group this evening. Patty and I think it went pretty well considering.
There were a couple of difficult songs this evening. No one is expected to know how to play everything. If you’re new or, like me, and can’t deal with some of the chords just play the ones that you can and things will get better over time. Our group was full of people who started out knowing only one or two chords.
Events –
CCS Epping – Play on the Purple Porch – Epping NH May 10th. This is an art show. Space is limited. Susan is putting a limit on the initial amount of participants. However, we don’t want to shut anyone out. We will put as many people on the porch and hopefully in front of the porch as possible and then we can swap out people on different songs. We always make it work. Check Meetup for more information. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank one of our members, Paola, for recommending SUP!
Hidden Pond Equine Rescue Open House: Play for the Horses! – Brentwood, NH – June 7th.
Thank you Lauren for arranging. this performance.
If you have any horse song suggestions please send them along.
Please see Meetup for additional information
Riverwoods Exeter – July 17th. We are waiting for the social director to confirm the date. This will be posted on Meetup once confirmed.
All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th – More details will be forthcoming once it’s posted on Meetup
There’s a new supply of SUP! Buttons available for free. Susan has them. We’ll put them out the next time she remembers to bring them.
Susan is thinking about ordering more SUP shirts. They will be in the same color with the same logo. She is looking for suggestions on different types of shirts that might be more comfortable. You can send her suggestions or we can discuss it when she’s available.
We have received suggestions for a tank top, polo shirt, button down short sleeve shirt and a blue sequined tuxedo.
If you can’t figure out who requested the tuxedo, ask me next week and I’ll tell you.
As a reminder, we will be at the library Saturday April 12th from 10:00 to 12:00. This is always fine so please feel free to join us. As of right now, this is the last scheduled Saturday.
If something changes, Susan will let us know.
If you ever have a question or comment about anything, please pass it on to us.
Have a great weekend everyone, better weather is coming I hope. See you all next week.
Take care,
Tonto (Jack)
