SUP Recap 5/14/2025

Thank you, Jack-

I would like to point out to all,  as I don’t often enough, how much our Jack does for the group and to keep us on track. I may pick on him  too much at times – just a smidge – but he’s quite resilient! Thank you, Jack.

I will get these corrections done, I promise!

Timing continues to be at the top of the list when it comes to suggestions for improvement, and it is always a good idea to listen to the songs. Going from one to the other so quickly also trips us up, I think. But all in all, we are pretty fabulous.

The setlist for the horse farm will be completed this weekend. I am also working on a setlist for the Kingston Volunteers picnic, and will get that out soon.

We’ve made it to the Ides of May, everything is green and pretty and the days are slowly getting warmer. Every day should be Play Ukulele on the Porch Day!

Have a great week –

Susan

Good Evening Susan,

So far we’ve had a few good days of weather let’s hope it continues.

We had 23 members in attendance this evening.

Susan put together another stellar PDF for this evening. You can find on our website.

Here are some of the songs that need something:

Black Velvet Band – timing issues.  We need to try to listen to each other and stay together.

Cottonfields – repeat last line.

For What it’s Worth – Susan to fix ending.

Dream Lover – remove [Csus] and [C] at end.

Things We Said Today – Please listen to the song and practice. It’s a great song but it needs more energy.

Don’t Be Cruel – practice

Hell on Heels – Great job Susan and Patty

Nobody Cares About the Railroad Anyone – easy enough song to play. We just need to familiarize ourselves with it. Please listen when you have a chance.

We were very well received at the Purple Porch/house performance.  We were a small but mighty group of five members. It was pretty much a laid-back no pressure performance. The solos, duets and trio songs went very well. One of our members soloed for the first time. She did an impressive cover of Tangled Up in Blue by Bob Dylan.

We had another member pick and sing another Dylan classic, Make You Feel My Love. Great job.
