Well, Jack,
It was jolly good fun singing you out the door. However, practice without you is just not the same. Singing about Tonto did not have the same spark! So you can come back after all.
A highlight of the evening was Steve playing and singing Tennesee Stud. The man packs several instuments and plenty of talent! Thanks, Steve, that was a real treat. I can’t wait to hear the mandolin!
We have started to incorporate some duets and solos into our performances, and while I would like to continue trying Tennessee Stud as a group (Doc Watson style, please), this song would be a good candidate. Hint, hint.
I am going to try to remember the song adjustments I promised to do. Without my secretary, there are no notes… but I do recall a few of them and will make the corrections for next time.
We will continue with horse song practice next week, and I will put together the setlist for the farm this weekend. It doesn’t have to be ALL horse songs, so I will mix in some of our tried and true selections.
Next up will be the Kingston Volunteers and Employees picnic… I am hoping for a good turnout for that one, so please check your calendars and join in if you can! Setlist for that will also be posted this weekend.
For new people: Please remember that details about our performances are on both the website and on Meetup. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out via email or by posting a question on Meetup.
Thank you all for your input – I do feel we are getting more mindful and organized about timing and speed, and we will keep working on it! Thanks to Tom for the help with counting… math is hard.
I have reached out to Joan and Dave and will let you all know how she is doing when I hear back. I have let them know how many of you have asked about her and are praying for her well being.
Stay warm and dry the next couple of days. Better days must be coming, right?? Hopefully before the end of the long weekend…. or the summer….
See you Wednesday –
Susan

Howdy Susan,
We had 21 in attendance.
I had to leave at 5:30 for a family event. Susan led a rousing rendition of Hit the Road Jack. With extra enthusiasm on “and don’t you come back no more no more no more no more”
That said, I will leave the rest of the recap to you Susan. I hope to be welcomed back next Wednesday.
