SUP Recap 7/16/2025

Thank you, Jack!
It was one of those fun if somewhat chaotic nights – our specialty! Thank you all for coming out and filling the room with friendship and conversation and some really fine voices!

Tomorrow at RIverwoods Exeter:

This is at the Ridge; if coming from Exeter the entrance is on the RIGHT off Rte 111. It should be easy enough to find us after that. I believe we will be inside, but I am double checking on that in the morning.

Any questions, my cell is 518-332-7792.

Fair warning, it’s possible I may not pick up! Try Jack via text or email, he is much more reliable.

Thanks everyone.

Going forward, I am looking into some outdoor events and hope we can talk about that tomorrow over a beverage.

See you (very) soon,

Susan

Good evening Susan,

We had 22 fun loving players in attendance this evening including a guest from Louisiana. She loves to play the ukulele but there are no ukulele groups in her area. She will be back next year when she’s in the area. Thank you Carolyn for bringing your friend.

We had a good turnout at the Brentwood Library with 11 members performing. This included some first timers. There was a small but appreciative audience.

We expect a larger turnout tomorrow at Riverwoods. Especially with our main man Larry leading the way.

We spent most of the evening fine-tuning the songs for tomorrow. If you have time to practice, check out the following:

Looking Out My Back Door

Help Me Rhoda – It’s important to count the beats coming out of the verse and into the introduction. I’m sure Susan will go over this before we start playing tomorrow.

Paper Moon – Susan will count us in with 1234, 123 then we do the intro

For the most part the rest of the songs went well and it’ll be a great time tomorrow. If you get the recap in time to read this, please show up. It will be fun. I heard something about frozen drinks at Larry’s after the performance. But then again I tend to hear things so don’t take my word on that.

Events:

Riverwoods Exeter – July 17th. Thank you Larry for your help with this. The setlist is posted on Meetup as well as our website

All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th.

Warner Ukulele Festival AKA Mighty Ukes Summer Jam II AKA Suzapalooza II – October 4th – Warner, NH.

This year the Contookuleles will be hosting the event. So far we have four groups on board:

The Contookuleles

SUP!

The Kukuleles

The El Trio Demers

We expect additional groups to sign up.

More information will be available in the coming months. The venue is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seabrook. Will be working on carpooling in order to have a strong turnout.

For more information check out our Meetup page.

If you have any questions, comments or song suggestions please let us know.

Stay cool and we’ll see some of you tomorrow and hopefully the rest of you next week.

Jack
