SUP Recap 7/30/2025

Ahem….

I totally spaced on the fact that this week’s list consisted in large part of suggestions sent to me by… Jack!! No wonder he found it so exceptional!

Seriously, thanks to Jack for the help with the list, and may this serve as incentive to the rest of you!

Have a great week –

Susan

Hello, Jack,

Thanks for the recap and reminders, and your steadfast help and support as always! I’m glad you liked the list (exceptional!!), and hope everyone remembers that we are open to trying any (er…. most) songs, so please send me your suggestions. As Jack mentioned, we are looking for a few really great songs to begin practicing for October 4, forming a list for All American on September 27, and in general we are always looking for new things to try. We also don’t want to forget about the older songs on our website, so don’t be shy about your requests.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and that at least a few will join us playing outside next Wednesday. If it’s raining, of course we will just skip it, but I hope to be there. We will gather in the front of the library by the picnic table with music stands, no mics or amps. The list of songs (all are on the website) is attached – I have 4 spare books to lend for those who don’t have their own.

Please stay tuned for a couple of special gatherings being planned for later in the month!

Thanks to all for your cheerful participation!

Susan

Good evening Susan,

We had 21 happy players this evening.

Important!!!!!  Next week we will be outside near the main door of the library. The room we normally use is not available. You will still have access to the restrooms and all library services.

We’ll be playing songs from Susan’s 2025 Go Outside and Play songbook list. She said she will make it easy to find.

If you don’t have access to the songs you can always look on with someone. Regardless it’ll be fun. The only way we won’t be out there is if it’s raining.

As most of you know Susan puts together a PDF almost every week for practice. They can be found on the website under Meetup Song List PDFs.

They can also be found in the comments under the event on our Meetup page.

Susan does a fantastic job with the practice songs. But for some reason this week was exceptional. In my opinion probably the best ever. I’m not sure why this is but I think there may have been other forces at work. We may never know.

For those new to our group, our website is:

seacoastukuleleplayers.com

It’s always a good idea to check our Meetup page for the latest information on our weekly practices as well as events.

Meetup.com/seacoast_ukulele_players/

We  have a Facebook page:

Facebook.com/seacoastukuleleplayers

And a YouTube channel

https://youtube.com/@seacoastukuleleplayers

I hope these links will work once the message is forwarded by Susan.  If not they’re easily found in a search of that particular platform.

We did very well on most of the songs. A few need some practice or maybe something else:

Love is All You Need – practice

If I Needed You – listen to the song and practice when you have time

Looking Out My Back Door – Susan will verify the pauses

Events:

All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th.

Warner Ukulele Festival AKA Mighty Ukes Summer Jam II AKA Suzapalooza II – October 4th – Warner, NH.

This year the Contookuleles will be hosting the event. So far we have a good mic of groups on board:

The Contookuleles

SUP!

The Kukuleles

The El Trio Demers

The Ukulele Songsters

The Port City Ukers

SNHUG

More information will be available in the coming months. The venue is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seabrook. We will be working on carpooling in order to have a strong turnout.

We also want to work on some strong songs to showcase the great harmonies we have. We may include some kids songs since this is a family event. As always we are open to suggestions.

You are always welcome to play with us even if you’re playing with another group at that venue.  I believe Mr Bill is playing with a minimum of three groups this year.

For more information, please see our Meetup page.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and maybe it’ll cool off a little bit.

As usual take care,

Jack AKA Susan’s Underling
