Hi, Jack! Hi, SUP!
Thanks to all for a fun evening once again. It was great to see Barb and Martha, and of course it’s always a treat when we have Bev there to sing!
One song adjustment we made (and will note on updated music copies) is on Stand By Me: instead of kazoos, we are doing “oohs” along with the instrumental.
As usual, the hardest thing seems to be timing and how long the pauses are, so I will keep on trying to make that more clear by adding chords or dots, or somehow keeping us all on the same program.
Many of our problems would be solved if we could only hear one another! I am going to make good on the threat to make us sit in a circle to practice, especially for new or tricky songs. I will provide paper copies of anything that is not in our summer song book that I want to go through. Those that have music stands: please keep them in your car, along with your Play Outside book. I will bring copies of anything I want to practice that is not in the book. I am hoping to actually Play Outside over the next few weeks if weather permits.
I appreciate you all! Have a great week.
Susan

Dear Susan,
We had 22 members in attendance this evening including some special members, from Florida, who stopped by while on vacation. It was great to have you with us Barbara and Martha.
I also want to take a moment to thank Bev for her amazing rendition of Summertime. It’s great to have you back as well.
Susan and I were recently asked if we were related. No we’re not brother and sister. And even though we bicker like an old married couple, we’re not and never have been married. We are great friends who happen to share the same birthday.
On to the songs:
Sound of Silence – Susan to look at the pauses
Looking Out My Backdoor – listen to it and practice
Stand By Me – Susan will listen to it and make adjustments as needed
Helplessly Hoping – we could hear the beginnings of some great Harmony. Susan is going to look into the pauses
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun – and they did
Cecilia – practice
Video Killed the Radio Star – needs a ton of work but it could be a fun song

We finished the evening with some delicious snacks and ice tea that Susan supplied.
I hope to see all of you and perhaps more next week.
Thanks again for being awesome,
