SUP Recap 9/10/2025

HI, Jack,

Thank you, I think you captured everything admirably.

I also thank everyone for participating in the group sing video. Not everyone is comfortable with such things, and I am one, but I look forward to seeing the video! To participate in the Pause for Peace in whatever ways we can is valuable- as I expressed before, if only because it makes us feel a part of a larger effort to celebrate peace and friendship and music. Those are things we understand.

I am looking forward to a pleasant few hours playing songs with friends on Saturday in Epping. Once again, that is a VERY small spot to play in, but we will make it work. If the spring fair was any indication, we will have free rein to entertain as we see fit- I am attaching the list, which is all from the Play Outside songbook. In addition, several of us plan to play duets or solos. They weather looks grand – even if you can’t play the whole day, or just want to listen, come on down and support the art space.

Coppal House Farm is the sunflower farm in Lee that we have been to on a couple of occasions. Nice place and people. We will play during their fall corn maze event again, which also includes vendors. We will be going on October 18, close enough to Halloween that Jack is getting ideas.

I encourage everyone to sign up and participate for everything they have the time for and interest in. But just coming out on Wednesdays to sing some songs and have some laughs with us is very much appreciated!

See you all soon,

Susan

Good evening Susan,

We had 22 enthusiastic members this evening. We had a lot of fun playing from another PDF that Susan created. It was a mix of some of our regular songs, some of the songs we’ll be playing at future events and the special Warner Festival songs.

We also took the opportunity to film, thank you Bill, I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing for the International Pause For Peace event.  Cindy said that we’ll be right up there with belly dancers. I don’t know what to say to that statement. Things seemed to go very well. Thank you all for participating.

I want to take a moment to thank Ruth for filling in on the computer scrolling. She did an excellent job. And now Susan wants her to replace me. I think she knows that Ruth is much easier to deal with.

On to the songs:

Cecilia – This is a Warner song and is getting better and better.

Brand New Key – Warner song.  I think this one is ready for prime time.

Stand by Me – Warner, The bass intro will be expanded to the first two lines and then we will come in with our intro before we sing.

Rick and Roll Music – needs practice

Tuesday Afternoon – This went fairly well considering we haven’t played it in a while

Get Together – Warner, this song is going very well and we hope to use it as part of our presentation to Pause for Peace.  Susan demonstrated some harmonies on the song that will be great.

Sound of Silence – Warner, this continues to improve each time. Excellent harmonies

I Love a Rainy Night – Warner, continue to practice.

We will be having a special practice for the Warner Ukulele Festival Saturday September 20 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Seabrook library. This time we’ll be in the small room.  Please bring music stands and paper copies of the Warner songs.  If you’re even thinking of playing at Warner and have not decided yet please attend.

Events:

CCS Epping – AKA The Purple Porch -Summer’s End Art Fair – Epping NH – September 13th.

All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th. Warner practice to follow at Rick’s house in Kingston.

Warner Ukulele Festival – October 4th – Warner, NH. Our set will begin at approximately 1:30.

This year the Contookuleles will be hosting the event. So far we have a good mix of groups on board:

The Contookuleles

SUP!

The Kukuleles

The El Trio Demers

The Ukulele Songsters

The Port City Ukers

SNHUG

HHHUG

There will be some great raffle prizes. SUP will be donating an Elvis Presley Blue Hawaii themed Kala Concert Ukulele and a couple of very nice ukulele wall hangers.  Susan will be checking to see if we can offer advanced raffle ticket sales like we’ve done in the past for those who can’t make the festival.

We have 10 confirmed members signed up for Warner on Meetup. I believe there’s at least five or six more that have stated that they’re going but have not signed up. If there’s any issues with signing up or you don’t have access to Meetup, please let me know. I can send you an invitation or add you on as a guest.

More information will be available in the next couple of weeks. The venue is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seabrook. We will be working on carpooling in order to have a good turnout.

Coppal House Farm – Lee, NH.  This will be a Halloween performance sometime in October. The date is to be determined.

Please check out our Meetup page for detailed information on our events.

And don’t forget to sign up for our weekly practices as well as events.

Have a great rest of the week and I hope to see a bunch of you at the purple porch in Epping on Saturday.

Thank you,
