Good evening, Jack –
It was a very nice practice this evening and I have even stayed up late enough to forward your recap!
We still have some fine tuning to do on our Warner songs, but everyone should keep in mind that they do go a lot better when we are in a smaller space (or on mics) and hearing each other better. It will come together fine!
On Saturday we will go over the kids songs for Warner too, and talk raffles and logistics.
Tee shirts should be in by the 27th and I will bring them in when I have them in hand. They are the same color and design as our original blue tee shirts, but on a more breathable material. I did not place a large order, but if they are acceptable we can order more. I will have 8 medium, 8 large, 3 extra large and 1 small, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately they were rather more costly, so they will be $25 to buy.
I am looking forward to a small practice in our original small kids’ room on Saturday! There is a projector and screen in there if we really need it, but I will have extra paper copies with me and think it will be most valuable to be in a circle where we can see and hear each other.
You have covered everything, I think, dear Tonto, so thank you once again for your diligent assistance!
And thanks to all who came out and helped us fill the library with joyful (mostly) noise!
See you soon,
Susan

Good evening Susan,
We had 25 in attendance tonight. Very nice crowd.
We have a Warner practice this coming Saturday, the 20th, at the library from 10:00 to 12:00. We will be in the children’s room. Please attend if possible. Bring paper copies and a music stand if you have one. Susan will have some extras.
Susan created another wonderful PDF with some input from her sidekick.
Here are comments on some of the songs:
I Fought the Law – Susan to remove the extra G chords and add exclamation points as needed.
Life is Beautiful – This went well considering we haven’t played in quite a while
I love a Rainy Night – Warner song. Susan demonstrated the tapping and Jan stressed that it’s an upstroke at the beginning of the chords. Something that we’re not used to
American Pie – This is the first time we’ve tried this song and it needs a lot of practice. We also discovered that quite a few verses had been removed from the song
Cecilia – Warner song. Please practice. Susan will add an extra C cord. She knows where
Helplessly Hoping – practice
Sound of Silence – Warner Song. Sing quietly with no strumming on the first verse. And then strum quietly through the rest of the song.
Get Together – Warner Song
Brand New Key – Warner Song
Stand by Me – Warner Song. The updated version was added to the website late this afternoon.
Let It Be – This went well for something we haven’t done in quite a while.
Walk the Line – We adding a new bass intro and outro. I thought it sounded great.
Susan has a new batch of Seacoast Ukulele Players T-shirts on order. They are expected to arrive approximately September 27th. If you would like one please contact Susan for more information.
Events:
All American Assisted Living – Kingston – September 27th. Warner practice to follow at Rick’s house in Kingston.
Warner Ukulele Festival – October 4th – Warner, NH. Our set will begin at approximately 1:30.
This year the Contookuleles will be hosting the event. So far we have a good mix of groups on board:
The Contookuleles
SUP!
The Kukuleles
The El Trio Demers
The Ukulele Songsters
The Port City Ukers
SNHUG
HHHUG
There will be some great raffle prizes. SUP will be donating an Elvis Presley Blue Hawaii themed Kala Concert Ukulele and a couple of very nice ukulele wall hangers. Susan will be checking to see if we can offer advanced raffle ticket sales like we’ve done in the past for those who can’t make the festival. She hopes to have the list of raffle items and tickets for next week’s practice.
We have 14 members signed up for Warner. I believe there’s at least one ot two more that have stated that they’re going but have not signed up. If there’s any issues with signing up or you don’t have access to Meetup, please let me know. I can send you an invitation.
More information will be available in the next couple of weeks. The venue is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seabrook. We will be working on carpooling in order to have a good turnout.
Coppal House Farm – Lee, NH. – October 18th.
This will be a Halloween performance.
Please check out our Meetup page for detailed information on our events.
And don’t forget to sign up for our weekly practices as well as events.
