SUP Recap 10/29/2025

Hello All, and thank goodness Halloween is over!

Just in time for my retirement party, yes – Saturday at 2 pm (until 5 and beyond), at Rick’s house in Kingston (18 Beach Drive). It’s an open house, come when you can!

I am setting up music stands and mics for us to use at some point. I also have the 5 or 6 spare “Play Outside” books I have been harboring, and will add a few extra songs we may want to share.

If you have a book bring it, but I think we can manage to have enough to share. If there is a particular song you want to play, bring at least 5 copies to share.

No, you do NOT have to bring anything else!

The library Christmas party will be on December 17. It’s always fun to take over the main part of the library; we will start practicing our Christmas songs a few at a time through November so we will be ready.

We have been told that on November 5, November 19 and December 3 we will be in the small room due to conflicts in scheduling. The show must go on, we will enjoy ourselves regardless.

Special thanks to all the good Halloween sports who made the effort to dress up and entertain the rest of us – you outdid yourselves! I loved the Octopus’ Garden. I think it’s time for a sleepover at Meghan’s!

Thank you all for coming out every week. I look forward to having more energy!

See you soon,

Susan

Happy Halloween Susan and friends,

Twenty four members were in attendance this evening.

We had a lot of fun playing a number of Halloween songs and some other songs that Susan put together. Now, we put Halloween and costumes away until next year.

I would be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to Meghan. She put together an amazing costume with accessories. The best part was that it was related to one of Susan’s favorite songs, Octopus’s Garden.  Great job Meghan.

There were a number of others that dressed up as well. Some original stuff there. Thank you players.

I’m not going to get into the Halloween songs until next year when they rise from the grave again

Here are a few songs that we tried:

Hazy Shade of Winter – Bangles version – needs practice.  The instrumental, in the middle, should be played twice.

Cornbread and Butter Beans – non starter

What a Wonderful World – Susan changed the key

Imagine – this went well

Events:

Susan’s Retirement Party – this Saturday 11/1

It’s hard to believe that she is old enough to retire.

She will put all the details in her portion of the recap.

Seabrook Library Annual Holiday/Christmas Celebration – We do not have a definite date but it will be on a Wednesday in place of our regular Meetup. We’re honored to be asked to come back again this year. It’s becoming a great tradition.  More details to follow.

Thank you everyone for the fun times.

See you all next week at our regular time,

Gomez Addams

P.S.  Thank you to the lovely Morticia for joining me. I have no idea why she refuses to speak French to me.
