Well, Jack, banjoleles sure are loud.
It was a fun evening and when I can hear again maybe we will do another. It could take years.
Moving on: Exciting news! We will be playing at the Seabrook Rec on their really rather nice stage, during their festival of trees event on December 5. Details will be on Meetup shortly, along with a list of songs to print and bring along. Basically, we will go in around 5 pm to set up and play from 6-7. It’s possible we may play longer; the event goes to 8 pm and I do not believe anyone else is doing music. Please put this on your calendar to participate if you can – it will be a fun one!
This will be a nice warm up for our annual appearance at the library’s holiday open house on December 17.
We are also of course planning for Hogapalooza. I would like to have a meeting prior to one of our upcoming Wednesdays, to talk about how to make the 2026 event better than ever. It’s also time we talked, in general, about our goals for the coming year – think about what you like best about the group, how to improve us, if you would like to perform more, include more instruction, etc. I will include this meeting at our first meetup in January.
Jack, remind me I said that.
I hope we all have an excellent Thanksgiving week and come back rested and ready to go!
Thanks everyone for your indulgence and friendship as we continue this crazy ride into another year.
Susan

Hi Susan,
Happy International Banjolele Day everybody.
It was hard to count how many members were in attendance this evening but I put it at approximately 28 in that small room.
I also don’t have an exact count on how many banjoleles were present. But we did prove one thing, every song is banjolele song.
It was a fun, crazy and loud evening.
We worked from a PDF that Susan and I put together focusing on banjolele and Christmas songs
Songs –
Let’s Get Together – Susan to add an instrumental
Cotton Fields – We need to count in on the song and to remember that NC means no chords, sung acapella
Let it Snow – The song sheet needs to be changed so that we continue to strum at the end as opposed to single down strokes
Ye Merry Vegetables – a fun parody by the one and only Susan Ayer
Alice’s Restaurant – probably the shortest version of this song known to man.
Instead of listing all the Christmas songs, we need to practice them all. Which will most likely be the focus of the December 3rd practice. Remember, it will be in the small room again.
You can check out all the songs that we played tonight on our website under Meetup Song List PDFs.
Events:
Save the date – we’ve been asked to perform at the Seabrook Recreational Department’s Festival of Trees Friday December 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Susan and I will be checking out the venue tomorrow. Susan will have more information ASAP.
Seabrook Library Annual Holiday/Christmas Celebration – Wednesday December 17th.
We are honored to be asked to come back again this year. It’s a great tradition.
This year the celebration will be combined with a changing of the guards so to speak. We will be saying goodbye to the current director Susan and welcoming the new director Elizabeth.
Hogapalooza III is on the books for Saturday January 31, 2026 at the Seabrook Library. We will have our regular space from until 4 PM. We also have a snow date for the following Saturday , if needed. The director met with the board of trustees and they approved our request. They love SUP! and we love their hospitality.
Stay tuned for more information as things develop.
Please check Meetup for our events.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions please pass them along.
Thank you everyone for being patient with me and Susan’s new computer. Once we get a normal setup in the main room I think I’ll do better with the scrolling.
And thanks again for being such a fun group.
Have a great Thanksgiving and we’ll see you all December 3rd.
Jack
