Thank you, Jack,
Thanks all for coming out last night and helping us with a bunch of songs!
Some of the selections may appear on an upcoming setlist, but for next week’s Brentwood Senior lunch, we still stick to some familiar selections – see attached pdf. I will also post this list on the website and the Meetup page.
Speaking of the Meetup page and website, these are maintained by Jack and I, and we do our best to keep up! Check them out, there is a lot of information there. We do add new songs on a regular basis, and appreciate your input if you see mistakes or have suggestions. Also, please do sign up on Meetup if you plan to perform at one of our events – it really helps to know who will attend. Also, once you sign up you will see all the comments and information shared for that specific event.
Next Saturday is our second Saturday meetup at the library from 10-12. Following that, some of us are traveling up to Madbury. This will be a birthday performance with some familiar old songs and of course a group rendition of Happy Birthday. Let’s give this lady a wonderful 104th birthday! I will have the list ready to practice as part of our jam next Wednesday.
It’s been a busy time and February is full – but we are in that 6-week countdown to Spring!
Have a great weekend –
Susan

Good evening Susan,
We had 24 members in attendance this evening.
Hogapalooza III was a great success. A fun time was definitely had by all. Thank you everyone for all the hard work you put into making this a great day. Will there be a Hogapalooza IV? Only the groundhog knows for sure.
We presented a check for $500 to the director of the Seabrook Library today. She was thrilled. She made it a point to tell us that the maintenance man said that we left the room in the best condition of any of the groups that use that room for large events. I think we will be welcomed back for years to come.
We started the evening watching a video that was sent to us by the Dalkey Ukulele Klub from Dalkey, Ireland. They dedicated their rendition of Folsom Prison Blues to us. They were great plus they had beer.
In case you didn’t hear Susan, we are having a Beatles night February 18th. Check out The Beatles tab on our website and if you want something that’s not there send your request to either Susan or me.
We played songs from another fine PDF put together by our fearless leader. You can find it on our website. She made it a point to say if you don’t like some of her choices, please send suggestions. Depending on who they are from, she may actually use them.
Here are comments on some of the songs:
Love is a Rose – practice
Hello Mary Lou – practice
Try to Remember – same
I Should Have Known Better – went well
Dream a Little Dream – Susan to review
Annie’s Song – practice
Take it Easy – practice
Rock and Roll Music – Don’t forget the cha cha cha at the end
Better Things – practice
Song Sung Blue – This was a request by one of the members. The first time we sang it, the timing was way off. The second time was a little bit better but it definitely needs practice.
Susan will review it and put it on the website. It may be in a different key so don’t be surprised.
Jambalaya the Special Edition – We ended the evening with a twist on our usual Jambalaya.
The special version honored a couple of members. If you weren’t there to hear it, I suggest you check it out on the website. It is right after the original version of Jambalaya. There were some not so subtle threats to remove it from the website. Please don’t Susan.
