Thanks, Jack, and thank you all for making last night Big and Beatleicious!
It was a little unruly at times, and we did have a bit of a kerfuffle with our “special” guest, but all in all I think we did a fine job with a bunch of songs, many of which we were exploring for the first time. You will be seeing some of them in upcoming Wednesday song lists for more attention.
Now that we are past Groundhog Day and three rapid-fire performances, I look forward to settling in and working on some new songs, Beatles and otherwise. We are looking into bringing our repertoire further into the 80’s and 90’s (20th century!), but suggestions of any era and genre are welcome. It bears repeating that anyone can introduce and lead a song or even an entire evening. I would be quite happy to sit and play along once in a while! But if you are shy I will make a stab at almost anything (right, Jack?), as long as I have it ahead of time. I reserve the right to change the key or format, and you must be gracious about my mistakes.
The list for next Wednesday will soon be in the works. Based on the next few practices, I will also be putting together the list for our next performance, at Webster on March 25. That will be here before we know it – along with Spring! Our weather related songs will take an appropriate turn.
Have a great week – see you soon.
Susan

Good evening Susan,
We had 26 in attendance on this very interesting Beatles evening.
We played a wide variety of songs from The Beatles PDF that Susan sent out to the group. We also picked random Beatles songs from our website. Some were very rough, some were very good. All in all, I think it was fun.
Out of all the songs there were a few that we thought could be brought into our regular lineup. I’m sure I missed a few. If so please respond to this email and let Susan and I know.
I’ll Get You
I’m Looking Through You
Yesterday
Girl – Susan to change the key
I’ve Just Seen a Face – Susan to add timing dots
We had three great performances in the last 5 days. We usually try to limit the amount of performances to one maybe two per month. February happened to be an exception.
The birthday party for an our 104-year-old friend went very well. The family and the residents of the assisted living Center were very pleased. We expect to be invited back.
The performance at the Brentwood Library was a lot of fun as well. Not a very large audience but we were well received. Jan told the audience that we were a ukulele group with a comedy problem.
Today, we received a standing ovation at the Brentwood Rec Senior Luncheon. A good time was had by all.
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge Susan for making these events special. She spends quite a bit of time tailoring the music to each event. Thank you Susan.
