Good morning, SUP!
Thank you, Jack. It looks like I have a lot of work to do – Happily I am really retired now!
The first three songs that you and Tom missed while solving tech problems for the library:
Stewball: I worked on making the timing and strum more clear (and started us off wrong anyway, oh well!). I think it went well and is a good song to keep handy for certain events. Anyone with harmony skills: listen to Peter Paul and Mary and have fun with this!
Girl: This was more singable in the new key, I believe.
I’ll Be There for You: Most found this was familiar once they heard it. It’s a fun song; I believe I would just take out the bridge if no one objects.
I always worry about trying to lead songs I am not not very familiar with, so I appreciate all the input and help! I am confident we can whip these songs into shape. If any just don’t work, well, there are a lot more songs out there! I will bring most of these back next week for another look, and introduce another one or two. Suggestions still and always welcome.
Have a great week and come on back – fingers crossed we will begin a glide into spring.
Susan

Good evening Susan,
It looks like at least 17 of us survived the blizzard. Thank you all for digging out and coming out this evening.
The evening started a little rough with the director trying to decide whether we should be in the big room or in the kids room. In the end we stayed in place. However, Tom spent the first 20 minutes trying to fix their set up so they could play a movie for the kids. I was away for about 15 minutes helping. Things finally got rolling for the kids and everyone was happy.
That said, I don’t have comments for the first three or so songs because I wasn’t present. If Susan has something to say she will add it in her comments. I want to thank Patty for filling in on the scrolling.
Susan rolled out a Beatles/ 80s PDF. This evening. You can find it on our web page on the Meetup practice songs or on Meetup itself under today’s posting.
I do have some comments:
I’ve Just Seen a Face – getting better. There was some questions about timing between verses. Susan will investigate.
Walking on Sunshine – needs a lot of practice but it is definitely a keeper. Susan is going to work on this as well. We are supposed to repeat the line “and don’t it feel good” twice. The question is whether whether the three cords at the end of that line are included. The marking is unclear. I believe Susan is also going to look at the ending.
Come Sail Away – This song went very well considering we really played it since Hogapalooza 2.
Everybody Wants to Rule the World – Great song but we need to work on the timing. Susan will look at that as well.
Stand – more work for Susan. Tom did a nice job on the echo
In My Life – great song. Needs practice
The Boxer – This went very well. We need to supplement Bill’s percussion with a cymbal and maybe some other items
Don’t You Forget About Me – needs practice.
Listen to the song when you have a chance, especially the ending.
Don’t Bring Me Down – Susan included this to keep it fresh in our minds.
Bye Bye Love – practice
I want to thank Susan for allowing time for us to play my latest parody New Englandville. It’s based on Margaritaville. It seemed well received. Lauren suggested that we record it and send it in to the WMUR TV meteorological staff. Susan and I are talking about possibly doing it next Wednesday. Stay tuned.
I believe I covered everything but if I missed something please let Susan or me know.
