SUP Recap 3/25/2026

What a day! I love this group and it’s always great to go out in the world and give the gift of music. Perfection is not what we are about (luckily), but we are pretty darn good and always bring friendship and humor in our pockets. Thank you all!

On to our future events. I believe we are all but confirmed to play outside Michelle’s house during Plumfest on September 12. With that, we will have fulfilled our goal of one performance per month – adding in the various open mic opportunities we are exploring, and some smaller events, this is a full year! We also will be helping with the library’s summer programs by coming in early on Wednesdays in July to help teach ukulele. This is to be confirmed soon. Please watch Meetup and the website for details on this and all upcoming events, and sign up for those you can attend.

Meanwhile: learn Jambalaya by heart! Y’all know what I am talking about!

In fact, I am re-committing to my own goal of committing as many songs or parts of songs as I can to memory. It will help us to be able to look up and connect with our audiences. Also, my lazy old brain can use the exercise.

Have a great week, all.

Susan

Good evening Susan,

It was a long day for some of us. We had the performance at Webster in Rye, which was very well received. Followed by a very nice soup and sandwich luncheon at Karen’s house. And then right to the library.

We had 23 in attendance this evening.

We played songs from a list that Larry put together for our performance at Riverwoods. Great job Larry! I am not going to go through all the songs because we did very well on most of them. If you want to see the song check out the PDF under Meetup songs on our website. The PDFs are listed by date.

On the road Again – Practice

Paper Moon – practice intro

Ripple  – Remember that we’re only doing one strum on each chord of the last line.

We will continue to practice other songs as needed.

We will be adding a couple of Beatles songs to Larry’s list.  Right now the contenders are In My Life and Octopuses Garden

If for some reason you can’t find the song list, let either Susan or me know and we can you appoint you in the right direction or we can email it to you
